7 week wait for broadband activation...???

Im in an extremely long process of getting my broadband upgraded, by long I mean since July.

Openreach have finally got their act together and the fibre cables are going to my house today.

Sky are saying though I won't be activated until 29th December (7 weeks time). Is this normal? Seems a bit of a joke...

That's stage one of a two stage job: getting the fibre from the external CSP to an internal ONT is typically a different team (trained in fusion splicing) which is much in demand.
