My neighbours, and my sister on talktalk are getting 80+mbps, they live a few seconds away, but the best I can achieve is 50mbps. Sky says I'm on the fastest broadband.. but everyone's getting way more mbps than I am. Are other broadband providers quicker or have I missed something? Surely if they can get that speed with talktalk I should be getting it with sky. I thought sky was going to be the fastest but I can't even play online and stream music 😕

@MazzaRazzi Have you checked on a broadband site which provider is available at your address and the speed offered, Example vodafone says 60mb/s available, ended up 30mb/s was the best they could do.
Its all down to the cable, junctions, conditions age etc....
Sky state in your contract what may be and minimum speeds are available.
Your 50mb/s should not cause issues, unless you are trying to do everything on wifi, thats another ball game.

I was previously with nowtv and was getting 42 max. I run a ps5 through ethernet cable, and just my phone on the WiFi. But if I play, say fifa, and stream music at the same time online play becomes impossible. Maybe its something I'm doing wrong 😕 just seems strange my sister is the same postcode as me, probably uses the same junction box but is achieving 30-40mbps more than I am, whilst paying the same with talktalk.. I feel like maybe I went to sky too quickly

@MazzaRazzi As i said, have you checked with talk talk what is available at your address, online checks do not commit, and getting 50mb/s with sky is good, its all shared bandwidth comming down the same pipe and somedays are good, and some times are good, you maybe unlucky and hit a bad time when everyone wants internet. Online gaming is ALLWAYS taxing on systems. Good you are at least on ethernet and streaming music also will have an effect.

Please post your router stats
Also would help if you could go to this site and use the 'address check' then post the results back here
