Hi - browsing and working on my desktop pc windows 11 with loads and loads of free RAM, WPA3 + 5ghz capable and Chrome all updated, always, but have constant (all day, all night) page loading errors, unresponsive pages and 'Aw Snap' errors, some saying 'Hung' etc.
This has gotten worse the past 2 weeks and now its almost impossible to browse for more than 2 minutes before the page becomes unresponsive and click-selects ignored.
We have 500 full fibre and Sky max, this should not be happening.
I have not made any changes to anything, there is nothing blocking the hub, there are only 2 people in the house, and I am the only computer who uses wifi, the other pc is on ethernet.
We were with BT but their pricing became outrageous so we switched in March 2025, and its just not as good as what we had, which makes no sense, being its all handled by Openreach.
However, we never, ever had this problem with BT. How is that? Are certain settings out of whack somewhere?.... I dont know enough.
Anyone got any ideas - but please dont ask me to check my router and reset it, via WPS or turning it off at the mains incoming etc etc. Also please dont suggest anything at all that Sky Broadband Help pages does, it gets me nowhere. I cant even find a way of ordering boosters, it sems hidden.
I have wasted countless hours and weeks of my precious time trying to solve this, and the steps Sky help suggests do nothing. Their diagnostics show everything is good and no outages in area.
I need advice from someone who knows exactly what may be causing this please? I am at my wits end.
The Sky assistant bot is abso-useless, just keeps sending me here, but I cannot find solutions that work for me in this here veritable minefield of information either!
Its been happening for a long while, but getting worse daily. Busy happening while I am trying to type this request!
I work all day and all night, am a graphic designer and am always on my pc. I do a lot of research too and am going nuts with this issue..its every few minutes! There is no-one around, no close neighbours (rural area) and nothing using the broadband other than my pc and our 2 x mobiles which are hardly used much at all, no streaming etc. The TV is on ethernet.
During the day, the ethernet keeps my partner's pc's running for work and I am the only one using wifi for mine, there should be no issue with wifi to my pc. I am sat about 10 metres away from it, open doors. Nothing which could interfere with frequencies are near the hub either..
I have checked with my websites' hosts (Hostinger) and they assure me everything is perfect there, DNS records etc. They said it can only be my ISP, Sky. I have checked through Chrome settings and it all seems normal as far as I understand it, Chrome is up to date too.
Please help if you can?
Do you think its a faulty hub? We have only had it 4 months and its been pretty **bleep** ever since but getting worse every day.
I dont know enough about settings within the router to make any changes, unless guided.
Thanks so much for your time. 🙂

@Appin any body who answers will be guessing but one point worth considering is your host is having issues dealing with Sky's MAP-T set up where 8 customers share one IP4 address. If you go to the pinned post about 3rd party vpn and complete the form that MAY sort your issue.

@Chrisee - never mind, I found your post helping someone else and followed up with further research and have enabled the UPnP setting as suggested. I will wait and see if it changes anything and report back later. My grateful thanks to you thus far X

Re: 500Fibre Sky Max but constant unresponsive pages for weeks
@Appin Glad it's all worked out, just keep in mind, it takes one stupid update on anything pc/hub to throw a network into complete turmoil, head scratching begins and then everything goes **bleep** is happening...

Re: 500Fibre Sky Max but constant unresponsive pages for weeks
:))) yes, its astounding. Updates on everything always make things worse! One would expect better from the monopolising overlords of tech. You spend time getting things the way you want them and then theres another update...aaaarrgh!
Thanks for the help, much appreciated!
