Having problems with my net speed.. it's been working at the best ok until around 2 hours ago. Everything started buffering and no speed. Checked speedtests and its coming back with me having a download speed of 1.7mbps.. my uploads around 4. Wifi is slightly better at 20mbps.. not quite the 40 i should be getting. Ive rebooted the router several times. Rebooted my pc. Checked the Ethernet cable and plugged it in a diff port on the router. Don't know what else to do now. Checked issues on DownDetector and over 100 others are having issues with internet too. This will impact me as I stream also. Fed up. it's been a very rocky few years with Sky and their rubbish internet. Trouble is where I live I'm limited to only 2/3 companies. >.<

Your stats from your other post suggest something on an ethernet device was downloading at 44Mbps. If you run a speed test you are only going to get a max of 5Mbps
Could you make sure no one else is downloading and hogging your bandwidth and run the speedtest again

Really? the only thing running is my pc and my daughters ipad which is "babyYouTube". I can't for one moment think thats hogging all the bandwith as I've never had it this bad before even when all my children are online playing Roblox and I'm online streaming... something isnt adding up somewhere..

Aye, i checked again. The wan mer rx bits per second show 44Mbps and the similar figure in the lan in tx bits per second show its an ethernet device doing that.

My pc is the only ethernet device connected and I'm not dling anything. Ive double checked apps running and nothing like Steam or Battlenet is downloading anything.

Strange. I wonder is something on the pc doing a software update behind the scene. Only thing would be to remove temporarily the pc and run the speedtest again

I suspect that is only hogging the bandwidth for the duration of the speedtest

It's not. It's hogging the system constantly. I did a windows update last night and now I think thats caused this to mis-behave.
