The two skyq miniboxes have started to malfunction. When I switch the tv on it goes to the last channel that I had used but I am now unable to change tv channels on either boxes. I do not get the dropdown menu itemising the different functions.

Yes, I did switch off the boxes at the mains but that hasn't helped.
My Sky Q box in the living room and two mini boxes have worked well for the last three years. Last week the mini box in a room upstairs began to malfunction – the picture began to freeze. Changing the mini boxes from one room to the other made no difference. As switching all three boxes at the mains had no effect, I replaced the three existing routers with three more powerful routers (IP link AV600) which has resulted in a different problem. The main Q box is not affected and plays normally but with the two mini boxes I now need to switch them on manually. This then plays the last station I had been watching but I don’t get the drop down menu to be able to change the station on the tvs in these rooms.

Have you checked the batteries in the remotes ?
Do the red leds (above the SKY logo) on the remotes flash when you press the ? button
Is your broadband/wifi with SKY or another provider ?
