lost Sky Box power cable in house move

Hi All, My sister has recently moved house and in the move has misplaced her power cable, the engineer has been out to set up but has said the power cable he has left will need to be returned, is there a way to replace the cable?

My Dad was there he said it was a yellow connector so not the figure 8 mentioned.

Fingers crossed the engineer will forget!

interesting - the standard colours for SKY cables are Blue for the power cable, Pink for the HDMI cable & yellow for ethernet (which not everyone uses)

As I say those are the standard SKY colours but it may not have been a SKY one I guess

Power cable for the Sky Q box? Main box or mini box?

What version of box is it? Did it have an external power brick?

If the engineer has left you with one then presumably it is working? You won't need to return it until you return the Q box whenever you decide to leave Sky.

@fizzdisco

They probably nicked it from another carton on the van, which is why they want it back ; )

@MountainFamily

The tricky one is the power supply for the v2 box with the external transformer, as that's not a standard connection type.

hi @MountainFamily if the box does not have a separate power supply, as the others have indicated, then the boxes use a standard 'C7' figure of 8 connector. ( BTW even the external power supply version may also use  the same C7 connector from the mains to the power supply unit - but I don't know)

Standard power cables with C7 pugs are available, in many lengths, from many sources and are not expensive .

Personally I would not think it would be a cost effective use of an engineers time to chase up return of such a cable but who knows

Doubt the engineer will come back for it.  He could surprise us though.
