Will the AsusRT-AX86S work as a 3rd party router

Hi just upgraded to the gigafast and getting really poor speeds from the stardard router even through wired  have been looking at routers and this has come up with an Easter sale so wondered if it would work? Cheers

All the below will work with sky

 

Rt ax56u

Rt ax58u

Rt ax68u

Rt ax86u

Rt ax88u

 

Mine is the rt ax58u and would be the minimum spec due to adaptive qos which allows you to switch priortise

 between gaming, streaming, browsing etc via the asus router app

Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 55 inch uhd tv, with Dolbyvision, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21

Not sure of the difference between rt ax86s and rt ax86u.  But the rt ax86u definately does with asus-merlin firmware. Probably best to call asus uk re the rt ax86s

Hi what am I looking at as far as specs to see if it does? 

 

The other I have looked at is the  Asus RT ax55 slightly cheaper

Just so you know it does work got the router today put the wan to automatic and the dchp 61 appeard put the username in and boom it's off
