Only 17 people posting here, and only one, other than your post, in the last 6 months. It's a dish issue. Give Sky a call to book an engineer - they are, and have been taking calls from any customer.

Re: Where has CNN news gone my box saying no signal for this channel ?
The CNN signal is considerably lower than most of the other channels.
On my Sky+HD box most channels are around 80-90% signal strength, but CNN is only around 60%.
If your dish is slightly misaligned it will still pick up the other channels OK but CNN will fall below the receiver's signal threshold level. The dish definitely needs checking.

Re: Where has CNN news gone my box saying no signal for this channel ?
I've said this before on here, and I'll say it again: CNN was moved to a transponder that is at the very upper end of one of the LNB bands, and the very bottom of the other, and sensitivity drops off in these positions. This design has resulted in a very much lower signal strength.
Anything that further reduces the signal strength (location, dish alignment, LNB alignment, cable, trees, rain etc) may push the signal too low for the Sky box. I've also found an inherently wide fluctuation of sensitivity between different dish+LNBs
On top of that, to cope with the reduction of signal as you go further north, a bigger dish is needed and in some areas the Sky installers have installed a dish that is too small.
I do my own dish alignment with specialist equipment and I can confirm that my dish is as near perfectly aligned as is practical - the cable run is relatively short, and losses are well within what should be acceptable. Yet the CNN signal still drifts below the threshold when there's a lot of water in the air.
Those making the decision to move CNN to the marginal transponder would have known all of this, but chose to do it anyway.

Does this apply to Bloomberg HD also? Both have gone for me since this morning. They were working last night but have disappeared today. No rain and blue skies here so the only thing that makes sense is if the dish may have shifted slightly during the night.

Nope as that channel is still broadcasting on 502 so what happens when you tune to it ?

Re: Where has CNN news gone my box saying no signal for this channel ?
It was getting no satellite signal all morning. Both CNN HD and Bloomberg HD affected. Quite literally in the past few minutes both are back again. CNN came back with some blockiness and breakup initially but Bloomberg is now fine. It certainly does seem to be related to signal but as we have blue skies here all morning, I am a bit stumped to be honest.

I get the problem of no signal quite often and although I do pay to cover my sky equipment when I reported it I was told they would not send anyone out to fix one channel.

You need to do something about it. Give Sky a ring to book an engineer.

Re CNN poor or no satellite signal on my SKY Q BOX YET ALL OTHER CHANNELS WORKING?
I have access to all my SKY Q Box channels however CNN channel has either poor signal or no satellite signal. I have tried switing the box off and on, changing preference from HD to SD but still cannot receive CNN channels 506 or 884. What else can I do?

Book an engineer. They'll be able to pinpoint the problem - most likely a slight dish misalignment.

Same issue for me. I rarely watch CNN but it's annoying. Must be a hassel for Sky, all the service calls when everything else is fine.
