I'm reading this thread with horror. I too ordered the hdr upgrade to replace my non-hdr 2tb box. Like many of you on here I also received exactly the same model that I already had, not discovered until DPD had left! I complained like hell and again like some of you on here was told it was escalated. Several phone calls made by myself later, I was given an engineer slot. The engineer arrived today with the hdr box now working as it should. I'm sure many of you are VIP customers, just to say it doesn't make any difference to ringing the normal number. Keep at them, eventually I found someone helpful. I have also put a formal complaint in asking for my £50 back due to the inconvenience. Still waiting for a response but I will keep at them!

Nobody should be paying a penny for this shambolic nonsense. Sky need to stop offering the HDR box completely until they have sorted out their stock control and fully updated their systems. 

If they don't sort it out this thread is in danger of becoming the new 'V3 box not fit for purpose' thread... Sky sure know how to balls things up in spectacular fashion.

@jan1975000 Sky may allow you to cancell due to these problems but don't be surprised if they try to charge you as you have said before you are not a new customer with a new contract you have merely recontracted ie extended your contract for a further 18 months not sure that you will have a cooling off period due to extending your contract

I spent most of last night on phone again,was told to expect a dpd delivery today of a 2tb hdr box wasn't very confident.Box turned up and is indeed a 2tb hdr box 32B240.  Keep trying guys they obviously  still have them in stock

3rd time calling in 3 weeks....just been on the phone for 1 hour 17 minutes,  passed to 3 people, finally got them to send another 2tb UHD - HDR box, she said she is "almost certain" it is the one "hopefully"

nothing is certain she said untill the box arrives, i need to check on the box it DOESN"T say non-HDR, if it does i need to return it to the deliver driver.

because on the system it doesn't stipulate HDR, ...

Had to pay another £50 for the order to be placed, which will be deducted off my next sky bill..HOPEFULLY

 

FINGERS CROSSED..will keep you posted, i actually mentioned to SKy cxustomer servioces to read this sky community post.

Most not say "NON HDR" on the box whew it arrives, if it does, need to give it back to the delivery driver / refuse delivery

Another flaw with this are all the packaging the boxes arrive in are identical apart from a little sticker on the outside with all the details @Godfrey posted earlier,surely hdr should be put on the outer box to make it easier to identify for the agents sending them out

Indeed. But Sky are rarely good at making logical decisions. It would also mean that someone would have to check that an actual HDR capable box went into the cardboard packaging box that says HDR on it, because judging by their track record it's inevitable what would happen...

I wouldn't rule out a shortage of v3 2TB UHD/HDR boxes due to a faulty batch or batches. Two weeks ago my very experienced, very helpful Sky engineer told me that Sky had found faults on some v3 boxes. So they may have taken them out of stock and now wait for replacements to arrive.

There was a comment on Monday from the CEO of STMicroelectonics, the company that supplies the SoC for Q boxes.

 

He said he doesn't think the global chip shortage will be resolved until the first half  of 2023 but expects "things should improve through 2022 gradually".

So just received an update from DPD, they will be delivering my Sky Q Box between 13:19 and 14:19. Not too much longer to wait.

 

I'll update you guys on which Sky Q TB UHD Box I get. I've also arranged a callback with Sky this evening, to check whether I've received the correct Sky Q Box or not. Fingers crossed and all that....
