Unable to download catch up tv

I am now unable to download itv catch up via my sky box? I receive a message stating that my subscription does not include this option and I should upgrade however, All the other channels download facility are working correctly i.e. BBC, channels 4 and 5 etc and my subscription is valid!

Usually it's because you're trying to download from box sets, and your subscriptipn doesn't include box sets, or you're trying to download in HD, without an HD subscription.

Now, I have just noticed that today's option to download include either HD or SD and I can download the SD however when I look at down loads from previous days the option is download or series link and when I choose download I receive a message asking me to upgrade my subscription?

Feel free to provide more information as messages like that happen if you are trying to view HD content when you don't subscribe to the HD package or if you are trying to watch boxset programs when you don't subscribe to the Sky Signature package.

I had the same problem as I do not have the HD subscription. To the right of the display is a box saying all formats. If you select this box you can change the setting to SD and you can then download successfully. Bit of a faff. Don't know if the download default setting can be altered to save doing this to individual programmes

As this thread is about the Sky+ box then you can set the default download to SD or HD via services > Options > Customise > On De,amd Download Format (scroll right down to page 2 to see it) then press green to save the change.

Thank you, I have followed your advice/instructions and set the download to SD only and I can now download the tv programmes on catch up.😉

Hi,

I have a similar issue, with sky +HD box, catch up tv (not box sets) starts to download then I get a message " to access on demand service visit sky.com/ondemand" . I know this is not a broadband issue as I can download from sky store with no issues.  I have the original package which I have checked with sky and it includes catch up tv, I have also considered upgrading to sky signature but this will remove sky+ and am not convinced it would help my catch up issue.

Not quite sure what you mean here as Sky Signature will give you access to boxsets in SD or HD if you also have the HD pack, it shouldn't remove anything and it certainley would remove you access to the Sky+ features of your box.

For your issue can you download SD catchup content ?

Thanks for your reply. My main issue is that catch up tv is failing to download on sky+HD box. I have set the box to only download in SD, it will start the download and then give me an error message " to access on demand go to sky.com/on demand. Internet is working as it works fine for sky store.

In regards to the reference to signature, I got a letter from sky advising me I will soon be moved to the sky signature pack, this will remove Sky+ from my package. ( if you go to upgrade on your sky box you will see that if you upgrade to signature Sky+ is removed) . I don't think this will make any difference to my issue tho!

Sky+ is inclusive within the Signature pack. It looks like it's removed but it's simply part of the Signature pack rather than being specified separately

I have tried to download from sky+ app here is the message I am getting, box is set to download SD. 

 So catch up and box sets fail, internet is working just fine I download a movie from sky store today with no issues. 
Here is the message on the sky+HD box. Any ideas?

I think you will need to contact Sky Ireland about this so they can take a look into your account.
