The Hundred UHD

Another broadcast issue on Sky with the 17:30 match today.

They obviously forgot to start transmitting the UHD broadcast and we finally joined the game 10 balls in.

edit: UHD failed to come back on after the mid break so we were treated to the "you're watching sky sports in ultra hd promo" for 2 & half hours and missed out on the other half of the game.

I saw the heading and thought it was a programme I did not know about, After reading a few post it dawned on me that it was something to do with cricket. Oh well back to sleep 😴

It's back on Monday from what's showing up. 

Bit disappointing considering the fuss made of the new format and showing every game up until the last few in UHD but hopefully when it returns they've had time to iron out the issues in broadcasting the game.

I find this mildly annoying...i for one, and the wife for that matter, are really enjoying The Hundred, watch almost every match,womens and mens, and think it's a shame we've no UHD coverage tonight for our team London Spirit. The games on 3 of the sports channels but they can't give us UHD!

It looks as if the F1 and associated programmes will be in UHD this weekend, plus the Olympics, and I can only assume that is using the capacity Sky have currently for UHD.

A shame, as I'd rather have the cricket in UHD, others may differ 🤔

I think it confirms that there are only two UHD channels available, one UHD/HLG DD+/Atmos capable and one UHD SDR DD5.1 channel used by F1.  So if the priority is for the Premiership to be broadcast in HDR this season, other sports will have to make do with the UHD/SDR channel.

Slightly less welcome from my point of view - assuming there are two channels, one of which is currently the Olympics - it looks like next week the other channel will be used for the Hundred in UHD, which means the Test Match won't be.

@Richardr1  I can't see the mickey mouse 100 getting UHD preference over the test match.

Better not do anyway or I'll be slightly aggrieved

Next Wednesday The Hundred is scheduled as UHD and the Test Match is in HD.
