Switching from now tv to sky

Hi Everyone

I would like to switch my internet provider from now tv to sky as now tv do not offer a fibre to the home ultrafast service.

I would like to keep my existing phone number but whenever I try to sign up for the service it is rejected. Have spoken to sky rep and the problem seems to be that now tv and sky are connected in some way and it is impossible.

Has anyone else had the same issue or found a solution

Thanks

Hi James

Thanks for your reply

I have spoken to sky on the phone but they said it can't be done which I find extraordinary as sky and now tv are linked together in some way.
Just wondered if anyone else had come across this problem and if so found a solution.

Thanks

If sky and now tv can't provide ultrafast then no other isp connected to openreach is likely to be able either  enter your full postal address in the database below and post the table for advice

That seems to be the source of the problem....

Re: Switching from now tv to sky

It's not that FTTP is not avaliable it is just that sky can't transfer my number as I'm already with now tv. Sky say that it's like signing up to a package when you already have one !
My only other option is to go with BT , bit more expensive though.

I recall at least one other post recently reporting the same issue, so it does seem to be intrinsic to the overlap between NowTV Broadband and Sky Broadband (which are, hardware-wise at least, the same product).

Re: Switching from now tv to sky

If Now TV did a FTTP package it would't be a problem I could just upgrade !!!

@subboff

Sky owns both businessess: I suspect the difference is largely to do with branding and marketing, just as NowTV is positioned not to erode Sky TV subscriptions.
