Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Mariah1234 that is the advice previously posted by a sky employee on another thread so yes if your part payment reduces your bill to £25 or less than yes you shouldn't be restricted but as fellow customers we can't give a cast iron guarantee this will definitely be the case

If you pay a few days before your normal payment date, it's too late for the direct debit to be adjusted.

I took out sky TV with the signature package. It should cost 37 a month when the engineer came to plug my box in. Which I was charged £30 for which I. Wasn't told about. He offered me a few offers. 3 months sky kids for free. Which would just end. Sky sports complete at 15 which I agreed to. Sky cinema at 6 pounds. Sky HD at 2 pounds. Which was all channels including sports. I have no need for ultra HD. When I was in hospital the person taking care of my house didn't log into my bt sports but added it to my package. This was supposed to be taken off. An advisor sorted it all out for me last month and when I checked the bill. It was 411. I have had sky for 3 months and its cost 600 quid. I cancelled my pre purchase of Spiderman due on sky on the 22nd. On the 15th it was on my box. I have an email saying it's cancelled on the 14th. On my bill I have to charges for the new Spiderman movie of 18 pounds. I asked if I change the bill date to my payday would it again be pro ratad and all over the place. I was told it wouldn't. I have tried to use my sky to cancel all these extras and there is no way to do it. The experience faced is so poor. I applied for 1 SIM card with 5 months free and received 3 sin cards today. I have serious mental health issues and money is a big trigger. I have tried ringing twice. And the line just does

What's happening when you call? We may be able to advise you on how to get through to an adviser.

I am going to be starting a new job and my first salary will not be until the 15th of the month. I currently owe sky allot of money and the money is due to be taken next week but I will not have the money yet. So, if I paid an installment of £10 either next week or the week after, can this help avoid my account being suspended? And then on the 15th of July I will pay off the remaining balance?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreBasically No. If you normally pay by Direct Debit and it fails on the normal due date, Sky will try again 10 calendar days later. If that also fails an automated process starts whereby your services start being restricted. Be aware that we’ve been told that Skys Customer Service agents can’t stop that automated process.
We’ve also been told Sky don’t allow payment plans (except on a legitimately closed account) or promises to pay.

@Thebritishone25 Only full payment will avoid restrictions I'm afraid
24 Jun 2022 05:04 PM
Oh ok I see. I received and email from sky today warning me my services will be restricted as I have a remaining balance on my previous bill although it says on my account they will attempt to take payment next week. But I understand.

Thanks anyway. I will jusy have to pay via a debt letter then.

@Thebritishone25 Not sure what you mean by this, sky will only accept direct debit or continuous card payments, it's also important to note that if you are more than two weeks late in paying sky will insist on next months bill being paid as well before lifting any restrictions
24 Jun 2022 05:16 PM
Oh I see. And I meant in the email they sent it says they will forward my outstanding balance to a debt collection agency. The current balance is from last month and the bill due for this month. So its higher than usual. I will be able to pay the ending of July as usual.

can you confirm that your services are not currently restricted and when was the last time you made a payment was it anywhere near 56 days ago
24 Jun 2022 05:28 PM
Currently, my services are not restricted. The last time I made a payment was may 24th. I was going to make a payment of £10-15 on tuesday. But now I have the email, I think they will restrict the service quicker and I will be working from home the following week.

@Thebritishone25 By my calculations you have 24 days left before they pass it on to debt recovery base on the information provided, so the information given currently still stands from where I see it
