Nobody here can possibly know, @Dommm . If you can't see the cause by checking the breakdown of your bill, you'll need to speak to Sky.

KEY WORKER

Hello there I've just noticed that I have been cut off my television ... I would like to know if you could please turn back on and I'll pay when I next get paid and bring my account up to date . I've been working around the clock as I'm a delivery driver so people can still get their daily needs and food supplies and I've ran a bit short on money for Bill's and food so had to dig in to some spare cash which was for my bill .. my internet is still on but my television isn't.. so I'd be very grateful if you could resolve this for me as this is the only day I have got off now until the lockdown is lifted . Minimum of 3 weeks

I rang on monday to confirm I lost my job due to closure by government rules as I work in a restaurant  to say I couldn't afford my bill, the only thing offered to me was  to take children's channels off and save me £5 even tho children are off school, my bill was due out of my account that day and that was all the money I had left for shopping and had no choice but to stop the direct debit. All this was explained in the phone call which was a complete waste of time especially when you got others calls to make, like things ain't hard enough. Sky as now suspended my account, all I wanted was help, I've been a customer for 13 years and that's my thanks. So please contact me via phone asap as i cant loose my broadband my son needs it for school work

No one will contact you due to your request here, we are mainly customers and the small number of staff have no access to the accounts system so would be unable to help anyway

Lost my job due to covid-19

Hello, unfortunately I have lost my job due to Covid-19 and I will not be able to afford my sky bill as I am struggling. I was wondering if there was anything you can do to help I don't necessarily want to cancel my sky package but until this is over and I've got some money coming in I will not be able to pay, thank you

The thing is the government need to prevent peoples credit ratings from being trashed if they start cancelling direct debits.  Come September when people will be tentatively trying to revive what businesses are left they might not be able to get credit to kick start things.

@Anonymous

All you can do is discuss it with Sky BEFORE you get into arrears. If you miss a payment, they won't let you get through to them until the bill is paid.

@cheffey whilst that may seem like a good idea it really isnt. Speaking as someone who gave advice for a living I know that cancelling a direct debit hurts the consumer far more than the supplier. They end up in debt being chased by debt collecters and with their credit files in pieces and to add insult to injury they find zero sympathy from the courts when the company loads on charges.

I dont know whether Sky will change their policies and I really think they should  give their customers a breather but please dont be an idiot and cancel your direct debit.
