I recently changed the broadband provider to Sky in UK ( sky router 4.2 hub) and have issues with setting up the Sonos home theatre system.
Sonos says that the router is splitting up the system making them unable to be work together. They asked the network provider that the following setup is needed for the Sonos to work
1) Auto channel set to off
2) choose best non overlapping channel ( 1,6,11)
3) set channel bandwidth to 20 MHz
4) Both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz enabled
5) UPnP enabled
6) 802.11 band should be b/g/n
7) airtime fairness disabled
😎 disable band steering
Sky, being network provider have no clue whatsoever. Do anyone faced these issue and overcome those ? Thanks 😊

It would help if we knew whether you had Sky Q boxes in the setup? If you do then there is a long thread concerning Sonos gear on this thread https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Q/SkyQ-and-Sonos-interfering-with-each-other/td-p/3589818 in Sky Q subforum that may help?

Thanks for the reply. No Sky Q box. Just Sky Broadband with the latest router mentioned above. No Wi-Fi extenders or repeaters either.

I was playing around with an older version of sky router and it worked. So, I realised that there is some setting in new router which prevents that. I checked all settings and compared each setting and finally, found that the only difference is in the new router, there is additional 5 GHz and there is tick box which says combine these. So, I unticked it to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and it worked.
I logged in now to post it and I can see that you have already found that out 🙂 I would have saved a lot of time if I had checked your message earlier. Thank you @jamesn123 for the help and support. You have been great.

802.11n (2.4GHz only) Amp
Arc
Beam (Gen 1)
Beam (Gen 2)

802.11a (5GHz)
802.11n (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Five
Move1
One (Gen 2)
One SL

Roam
Sub (Gen 3)
My home theatre system consists of Arc, Sub ( Gen 3 ) and One ( Gen 2). Arc can function only in 2.4GHz whereas Sub (Gen 3) and One (Gen 2) can work with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. So, combining this as home theatre was not possible in the combined mode ( ‘Synchronise 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Settings’ - tick box checked ) and hence the cause of the issues which I faced.
