Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Happy with my Q, download issues aside, wouldn't want to go back to the old box. If someone was to involve Watchdog it may help to focus their minds and speed up a solution.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
I've just had this issue resolved by following these steps:
Settings > Set Up> Network > Advanced Settings > Edit
Change the DNS Server Setting to 8.8.8.8

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
The DNS workaround doesn't always work, I have been running it and yiou get a slightly different error sometimes, about the remote server. Which indicates its still another SKY issue likely capacity.

It doesn't always work. I've tried it several times but with no luck 😞

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Tried changing the DNS to 8888 and 1111 nothing works. Called them on Friday and got told they know about it and are working on a fix. Does make me wonder why I am paying for cinema when I can't watch anything that's not live. Sky and BT need to get their act together.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Had a Sky engineer round today. They are aware of the issues and at present there is no fix. From what he said they dont actually know what the issue is.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
I spoke to them today and was told they know of the issue and trying to solve it. Their servers are wrecked. They offered to try the DNS work around but my system would not let me delete anything.
so effectivelymImhave a box that I am paying a lot of money for to watch terrestrial tv on. I am unable to watch any movies as they need to be downloaded.
sky admitted they do not know how long it will take to fix and I Dom it believe it has anything to do with BT

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Mine worked as well, for a while, but only during the early hours of the morning. Remember this is a temporary fix which might stop working at any point

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
So I have the same problem with an Engineer booked to come in a couple of weeks time - I suspect this is a pointless task but if Sky want to follow the script then so be it.
It seems more of a CDN issue rather than box based although interestingly I've noticed an issue with the Netflix App on the Q box where it fails to play the next episode or cannot play the selected item - very similar to the main download failings.
I also have a BT TV Pro box with Netflix on the same network (and switch) and this doesn't have any stream problems, no other issues via the same FTTP circuit which can only mean a software/ firmware bug or some CDN issue further back in the network.
I very much doubt a specific BT Broadband issue but could be related to network interconnectivity but it doesn't seem to affect NowTV either.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
New contributor to this community, but having read all 19 pages, tried every fix possible that has been provided here, I still have exactly the same issues as previously posted by others. Decided to take a different approach this morning as calling Sky is clearly not working, so I have written formally to several media outlets and provided links to these comments on this forum. Sky need to take responsibility for their services, they have not done that so far, they have not offered any form of compensation as far as I can see, and no input on this forum of note, clearly they have an issue they don't want to admit to publicly, so perhaps having others in a wider context discuss and question it may move things along, let's wait and see.
