Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I thought others had also said it started happening before the weekend to them, therefore this rules out the suggested BT? changes Sunday

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Just tried it again this morning. Tried to download Kong Vs Godzilla, failed. Immediately tried Temple, failed, then tried another Sky channel series at random, failed. Then immediately tried a Channel 4 program, worked immediately. Went straight back to Temple, failed......Tried a BBC download, worked immediately

This has to be a Sky issue for their content.....how would an ISP differentiate between downloads??

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Downloads still failing this morning.

If it is a BT incompatible update causing this issue, surely it is for Sky and BT to deal with rather than asking us to contact BT or change our router settings.

We didn't cause the problem, so someone at Sky and BT need to get their fingers out and FIX IT!

It's both Sky Q and Sky+HD being affected.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I tried to download this morning, it failed, I tried again the DNS change which did not work before and updated the network settings again DNS setting to 1.1.1.1 and power cycled the box and tried again and it worked. I will check at queue later and see if it works. Not yet conviced this will work permantly.

I hope it does continue to work.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

This is not a by router issue if it was not downloads would work but when some do and some don't it's a SKY issue that they are trying to fob off on someone else

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

OK, so the DNS fix allowed some more to download, but then some failed different error:

Download Failed Remote network error

So perhaps there are two issues here.

Either way its not working!

I'll leave my setting on 1.1.1.1 and see if it is "better"

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

That is exactly the same as my issue, a couple of episodes of one series downloaded and others fail with you message

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

It seems to be going very slow after changing my DNS to all 1's but hay at least it is working I guess. Hopefully I can get the last 3 series of The Wire downloaded before the year is out...

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Its should only be slow to resolve the server names, not slow to download, if it is this would indate a SKY infra issue

Might be worth trying some other public DNS:

Sky Broadband DNS

90.207.238.97

90.207.238.99

Google

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Never known BT to do anything quickly. Reckon we will have this problem for a while. Maybe if Sky threatens to remove their services for BT TV users, BT may rectify Sky users issues quicker.

And BT could threaten to remove BT sports. Neither idea is good.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

This is actually not a BT issue and is an issue with Sky equipments communication with BT based routers.  Sky will have to push out a firmware update for this issue to be resolved and that could take time.
