I too am getting failed item unavailable many times, waste of time contacting sky as it takes a long time to get through and they dont admit they have a problem just ask you to reset box etc. Hope they fix the problem they dont have soon

We are getting the same issue here, trying to get hold of sky and just get told there is a 30 minute wait and give up after 40 minutes +.

yes been having the same issue for 2 days now. downloaded and watched Succession first series last week. went to download second and third series yesterday. every time came up 'Item Unavailable'. have done a software update, deleted all previous verseions of Succession in both recordings and in deleted folder. tried again this am and still get 'Item Unavailable'. what is dead odd is that there is no problem with sky go to an ipad, but i dont use ipad to watch sky, thats what i pay forthe sky q box to have...
if anyone has a tried and tested method to fix, please let us know.

I too am having the same problem, can't download the next episode of Dexter or Dan Browns the lost symbol. Works fine for none Sky channels though as tried it on the BBC catchup and SyFy channel and they worked fine. Seems like Sky have a problem with their content.

Hi all. At 3 oclock this morning I downloaded 1 episode of American Rust without any problems but then at 7 this morning I'm back to the same FAILED problems as last night .... I didn't change any settings etc so Sky it's nothing to do with us customers having to reset the box etc etc it's clearly a technical problem at the Sky end and still reckon that high download volumes have something to do with it. stop making out it's a customer end issue

I too am having gthe same problem and it only started happening in the last few days. I was gaving no problem downloading Dexter and then bang i can't download anything. I have no problem with recording stuff. i too have turned off the box the router done a software update and still have the issue. from following this thread seems Sky have a problem!!

Sounds like there are a number of people with the same issue.
How do we get Sky to take note and fix it or at least let us know what is happening?

I have reported it to Sky via a closed forum on here and have pointed them to both this thread and the others discussing it. No idea on a timescale for a fix just yet.

Wouldn't it be nice if Sky had online support advisors like lots of other large corporations!! That way they would know they had a problem earlier and not be stalling over this issue.

An update, I have just managed to download a few more, nothing has changed so it must be the Sky end. I paused the last episode I watched and then press i on the remote and selected the next expisode and downloaded. I then went to that episode and did the same and that worked, I have queued up the whole series and the first of the next, so will see if it works.
To me it sounds like a network bandwidth or one of the servers is the issue.

Can everyone else who reported the issue please try to download again.

Just tried it - same result 'Download Failed' will keep trying during the day and report back here

@georgebeds you have probably done already, but could you switch off Q box at Wall for 30 seconds, restart and try again

Had this problem for a few days I've reset multiple times nothing has worked and now it's telling me because of a technical issues your program couldn't be downloaded please try again later! Fix this sky!!!
