Sky+ remote

TV recently broken so have connected sky+ to other tv.  Unable to get anything using remote, other than switching on/off, volume and channels.

How is your Sky box connected to the TV you're using now?

Sky HDMI lead on box  connected to HDMI 1 port on tv.

When you say you can't  get anything, do you mean there's no picture and sound? Or do you mean your Sky box isn't responding to the remote? If it doesn't respond to the remote, does it respond if you use the buttons on the box? Have you tried restarting the box, by switching off at the plug for 4 minutes?

It doesn't seem to be responding to the remote.  Unable to access planner through TV guide or intereactive buttons etc.  Have tried switching it off for 4 minutes as you advised but still the same.  When I press any button on the remote the red light flashes both on box and on remote.  Sorry if I'm a bit of a technosaurus.
