Sky + pixelating when on fast forward

I have a sky + box and when watching a recording the picture pixelated on fast forward. Then when returning to watch the recorded programme the sound keeps going off. The only way to resolve this is to unplug the sky box and then return to recording after a few minutes. It doesn't happen all the time  maybe once a week or do, the rest of the time it's ok. Once you go back to the same recorded programme it's fine. Any advice??

Note: This procedure will resolve many non-planner related issues as it does a safe reboot of the Sky box
