Hopefully my last update on this ...
The Skyq box remained stable but the multi box continues to stall/lock/freeze. At least it didnt knock the main box out.
I reasoned this is probably because the multi is at the limit of its wifi range. To recap I have a long house. It was about 15m away through 3 breeeze block wall. Also, as both boxes were low down then line of sight would be through 2 radiators as well.
So I bought a 15m long hdmi cable. Moved the multi to the back of the room about 3m nearer the main box. I also put it on a high shelf to avoid the radiators. For good measure i cleared surround sound speakers away from near the main box in case their magnetic fields were interfereing with the signal.
Result is it now works fine. No delay at all. Just like watching on the main box.
