"The Death of Rats" is a character in several of the Diskworld novels by the late (and much missed) Terry Pratchett.  There's probably one or two references to it online....

Damn it! That's twice cursed today.

Back to the drawing board with the name thing then.

Thank you my learned friend😉.

@planearm .  Perhaps Sky should give a prize for the person that gets it to 100 pages!

Re: Sky HDR

I'm waiting for BBC1's Casualty in HDR. Although watching tonight I can't understand why they're not wearing the correct PPE after all that's gone on!!!

Re: Sky HDR

Interested to know - do the members that keep saying things like "stop whining" and "just wait" already have V2 and V3 boxes 😀

Cheers,

Yes Nigel. But the people with V1 boxes have been watching UHD content for a lot longer than I have 😉

Re: Sky HDR

I was given v1 box when v3  was the current one. that is my  point. one of reasons for subscribing to uhd was the impending introduction to HDR. my tv is fully compliant for hdr and hlg. BBC  test broadcasts in hlg was amazing difference to picture quality. v1 box was original box when sky q launched I only had sky q installed less than 6 months agp!

Not that it matters, but I'll challenge that.  I got my first UHD TV in October 2019 so very new to UHD - how long have you been watching UHD content?

But that is irrelevent, and the post that is marked as a solution makes some invalid comparisons.

The solution compares having an iPhone 7 and complaining that it doesn't do all that an iPhoneX does.

That would be a valid analogy if we bought the boxes.  But what we do is to buy a service and Sky provides a box to enable the customer to receive the service that they paid for.  The customer does not own the box, Sky do.  If That customer cancels the service they have to send the box back.

"But there is a payment when you receive a box" - yes but look carefully at Sky's very careful, legal wording, that payment is not for the box but for the setup.

So my issue is that you have Customer A and Customer B both paying the same for a service, but Customer A can access less of the service than Customer B because Sky has provided them with different boxes.

As I said, I don't mind waiting a few months for Sky to sort the situation out but based on years of experience I don't think Sky will have the appetitie to sort it out any time soon if at all.  I've been with Sky nearly 30 years, as you can tell I am generally happy with their products, but I have also learned that with Sky the squeaky wheel gets the oil so it pays to whine.

Cheers,

Nigel
