Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

What's your username over on the AV Forums? I'd like to know as I it would be interesting to see the responses you get if you dare to go and ask about sharpness over there and then refer anyone to the RTing's website link you've just provided.

That website isn't held in high regard for very good reason. Again, don't take my word for it, go and read through the C8 and C9 thread on AVforums re the comments on Rtings and it's thoughts on set-up of OLEDs.

And when you mention a calibrator I posted you a link to his comments about using the same expert settings I've already mentioned UNALTERED.

So, having established you don't know what you're talking about, there's little point trading bards with you and embarrassing you further.

You appear to be just spoiling for a fight. You won't get it from me.

Going backwards and forwards, pointing out your errors is also not adding anything to this thread about Sky HLG HDR.

Edit; just to labour the point, this is from yet another calibrator (Parry) on the C9 thread, contradicting the advice given by RTing's com. Sharpness 10 on every preset - https://www.avforums.com/threads/lg-oled-c9-owners-and-discussion-thread.2227517/page-107#post-27653557

This conversation is over.

The technology didnt exist when the first sky q boxes came out this has been explained countless times already today. I will use the same analogy as earlier. Would you ring apple and complain that your iPhone 5 doesn't have wireless charging yet the iPhone X does.....No because the technology wasn't available same as the sky boxes. Would you ring up and complain your CRT Sony TV doesn't have 4k hdr....no because it's older technology just wait it out and see what happens it's been released a day

Of course, you would not expect Apple to swap a phone from 4 years ago(not a clue when the phones came out) for one of there latest models .. because Apple only sells there Hardware ,not lend/rent as Sky do .. Apple are more than happy to sell you there newest phone with there latest tech on board .. Sky as of now have no interest in providing there newer boxes to those who want them .. if they sold there Hardware as they use to they would and find away of providing it even in Pandemic times. because it makes economic sense to do so...  there we are back to money.

All is described there

Sorry, your own post in that thread  says the hardware version 32B206 is the v3 box.  Sky don't reference the ES numbers on the labels on their box pages, presumably because it's easier for users to check on screen than root around under their boxes.

No it did not!

You clearly didn't read it too well as you would have read that that version number is (and still is) being reported incorrectly in the settings menu.  Just read the thread properly - the one I quoted.  It's only 3 pages, long lol and you will see that @ Kei+M explained it all - maybe you should have gone to Spec Savers!

Re: Sky HDR

Wouldn't it great if when Sky launch an upgrade path for the V1 2tb boxes to HDR compatible versions they charge an extortionate amount of money to do so. Personally, it wouldn’t bother me in the least to pay £500+ to upgrade but it would be worth it to see the meltdown on this forum from those who I have absolutely no respect for, are utterly incensed and are demanding an immediate upgrade to their boxes in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, 15 minutes after Sky launch HDR with what most would consider to an extremely mediocre and uninteresting offering of content.

Of course it will never happen but it would be worth it just to irritate those “Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells” posters who visit these forums.
