Re: Sky HDR

@GreenLantern  It's a real shame you haven't got Dolby Vision. If you had you would no longer be desperately seeking UHD/HDR. Time to get yourself a new TV.

Re: Sky HDR

Try making sense of all this when you're rattling with codeine tablets for sciatica. I feel like I'm in a dream. Or nightmare 🙂

Re: Sky HDR

@GreenLantern   So I guess laughing at funny posts doesn't help with the pain?  It reminds me of when I collapsed in serious pain (my back went into lock-down) at work years ago, was sent home only to watch a seriously funny Morcambe & Wise program - apologies - I'll try and shut up

@GreenLantern  blimey, that's some hope, certainly for at least a decade so experts are predicting. That's why Final Salery schemes were always better.

Ok,

Hopefully in the future we will be able to swap.

Also what happens is out sky Q box breaks? Or acidentally gets hit with a hammer...

They swap it for another box (usually of the same type).. and charge you the non return fee if they spot the hammer marks!

Re: Sky HDR

Same as many here. Non compatible V1 2TB since the first month of Sky Q

Also out of contract since 16 May.

But I just cant be **bleep** trying it on for 10 hours or so of HDR. Sport and movies appeals to me more.

My main gripe is having to call and wait an hour or so to be able to remove Sky kids and move to Sky Signature which would save a tenner or so but even that is not worth a new 18 month contract. Why cant this be done online?

BT VIP is looking appealing to me. For price I pay Sky  I can get that Netflix Amazon Disney and even Hulu via a decent VPN. Decisions decisions!

Re: Sky HDR

I am one of those very early apodters of SkyQ - paying a LOT more than some it seems for my package and also have the V1 2TB box and multi-room.

I understand that the V1 box may well be incapable of adding the HLG update and I have no issue with that - I understand technology moves forward etc. However, Sky added HLG to F1 at the start of last season in Italy and therefore have had a YEAR to devise some strategy for those of us who would need to be upgraded before they bring HLG to everyone in the UK.

I do think that Sky should have at least made some statement for its loyal customers - even if they were to explain that any possibilities of arranging upgrading the V1 boxes is currently on hold whilst the situation here is as it is. At least then those of us with V1 boxes would have some information and ease some of that disappointment.

As others have said, we are paying for a service and part of that includes access to the same upgrades as EVERYONE else who are on SkyQ. Unlike previous Sky boxes, we are not owners of that hardware so it should be Sky's responsibility to ensure the hardware is upgraded if it is technically 'out of date' to bring that service to ALL its customers.

Again though, I totally understand that the current situation is perhaps a reason that is not currently possible and Sky may well have plans to upgrade boxes for us on V1. However, I do think they should have said something - I am sure that the vast majority of us with V1 boxes would be understanding - it may not stop the feeling of disappointment, but it would alleviate the felling of anger and resesntment for being 'penalised' as an early adopter.

Its amazing what good communication can do in situations like this...

Anyway, I will wait to hear from Sky but if anyone hears anything, please can you let us V1 owners know - thank you

The exponential growth of this thread this morning (and I'm sure it will continue this afternoon too) will be deflecting attention away from the "Cummings" issue !

Only if he is not in HDR.
