@SouthRap wrote:So anyone wanting a Sky Q 2Tb V3 (I was V1) just book a online appointment with HDD failure and the lovely Sky engineer replaced it no questions for the new v3 box without the silver strip. Done and dusted. No fee and free can't beat that for

They do read them. And they read the other threads on here about problems. But in the great scheme of things I wonder how many customers are actually complaining, or leaving, because of the various issues posted on here? In terms of Sky subscribers what perecentage are on here actually commenting on/complaining about issues? Yes lots of comments but if you look at the number of users actually posting it us quite small, they post multiple times.
I suspect the vast majority of Sky customers are actually happy(ish) with what they are getting. Or not so unhappy that they make a fuss. If you are a company that has a couple of million subscribers and have, say, 100 making a noise about something then how high up your priority list is it?
If the problems were significant enough for a large number of people to be leaving Sky because of it, then they would need to do more. But through a combination of it not being a problem to most viewers and there being nowhere to go for some options they keep their money rolling in.
in the end it is a business and who put your money where there is most pressure.
Not saying I like it or agree with their priorities, but that is the nature of big business.

Re: Sky HDR
@turnbacktime , Sky advertised via a launch that HLG was on its way two years ago. They never mentioned before the launch what the problems were. The issue being 1 million boxes are incapable of displaying the new content but keep paying for it. This amazing journey will result in 1000s leaving because of the fiasco. Who cares, there's better content providers. I will be downgrading my subscriptions significantly before they fix it

Re: Sky HDR
Nope, not a word and didn't even check it. He phoned me before he arrived and asked me what error message I got on screen (I already reset box to factory) I just told him 'hard drive error and that I can only watch live programmes' to which he told me he can't fix that it would be a straight box swap. Done and dusted.

I wasn't excusing Sky's performance on HLG it is worse than poor. But having said that would rather have waited than got some of the appalling pictures that were seen in Italy.
What I am saying is that when they are assessing their business they will have taken the decision that the number of people they will lose doesn't justify them spending more money on the issue.they might be right, they might be wrong.
And for many people/interests there aren't real options for content. Virgin isn't available in the majority of areas, and as many if their customers complain about poor service issues. If you want Premier League and some other sports then it still has to be Sky.
interestingly the last customer survey I had from Sky didn't ask will I still be with Sky if they dint provide certain technical functions. It was will I stay if they don't have coverage of X or Y. So that is still their priority

It depends where you are in rgards your 18 month contract.. if in the last month then you are in a great position to insist on a V2/3 box as part of renewing .. where as if you have a year or more Sky will insist on the honouring / payment so unless you are willing to stump up £600 you will stay.
In regards to a huge swathe of V1 box owners not given a hoot or even know about HDR , that should allow those who do want HDR, so why not facilitate them first in any box swapping

Compared to the backup button thread from a few years ago, this one is tiny...
Sky changed Sky+ so pressing backup took you to the guide... I seem to recall that thread running to 200+ pages!

Re: Sky HDR
Agree with you entirely but I was on to them for something entirely different but I happened to mention this HDR thing,I have the first sky q 2 tb box and she went on to tell me there isn't a newer box lol so you would think some of them would know their job better than that
