Re: Sky HDR

I have the old v1 sky q 2tb box, phoned sky this morning and requested an upgrade. I was informed that no 2tb hdr boxes are available,  so had to get a 1tb hdr capable box as an upgrade, slso a £25 charge for this.

I enquired as to when a 2tb hdr capable box would be available and was told it will be several months so anyone wanting an hdr box at present can only get it in the 1tb storage type and of course the £25 uograde fee.

Also advised that the subscription remains the same price, even with half the storage.

Sky have said the upgrade process isn't ready yet, so it sounds like the agent you spoke to has tried to sort you out a new box by a different method.

Unless you're really desperate to watch 20 hours of wildlife content in HDR, it's better to wait a little until the process is in place.

Is there any news on the upgrade program for loyal customers yet?

Re: Sky HDR

Wanted to upgrade and if  necessary purchase a compatible box but Sky doesn't seem to have planned for this! Has anyone been successful?

Does seem a little crazy that for early adopters of the Q platform and as a Diamond VIP customer I am penalised when it comes around to HDR content. Checked with customers and technical services, who were very polite, but advised that there is nothing we can do as Sky doesn't have an upgrade program for 32B0xx boxes. I just have to wait until it does , if ever. Until then, Loyal and early adopters are pushed to the back of the queue.

Sky Q Silver 2 TB

Sky Q Mini

Signature Package, plus Cinema, plus Ultimate TV add on, plus Ultra HD, plus Multi screen.

Sky have already confirmed they're working on an upgrade programme, but it isn't ready yet

Re: Sky HDR

They have basically told me they wouldn't update to newer boxes until HDR is rolled out in full and then I didn't get a positive answer all I got was I would imagine they will update boxes

Re: Sky HDR

Re: Sky HDR

@Haggisbasher ,,so did you take up the great offer to pay more for little content or did you hang onto the £25?

Re: Sky HDR

@Paulonthetelly  sounds like a great deal pay 25pounds more and get 1tb less to watch 3 documentaries

Re: Sky HDR

@Haggisbasher  so your paying 25pounds for delivery of a box of less storage than you have already. Of course you subscription would stay the same why would it be different lol you would have probably been able to upgrade your box for free once the upgrade program went live. As now your account will change to reflect a 1tb box if you decided to upgrade again once the 2tb boxes are available you would probably have to pay again as Im pretty certain the upgrades will be free for like the like storage

As of now HDR content is free on the Sky platform , what little there is.. so confused how you can go from a 2TB Box to a 1 TB V 2/3 and is classed as an upgrade .
