Re: Sky HDR

I've just ordered Sky Q and expect delivery in mid June. I'm very much trusting that the box that's delivered will be the latest model with HDR compatibilty and that they're still not issuing older non-compatible boxes?

Re: Sky HDR

@Zaim99

I am not sure what the picture setting should b as I can not get HDR on Sky Q but HDR/Dolby Vision off Amazon Prime/Netflix is Topclass especially Dolby Vision the White and Blacks stand out and I do not alter any setting at all

Tell Sky you are having it done on the proviso the box is able to give you HDR .

I ordered Sky Q at the end of April and my install date isn't until 20th June, but if they try and give me anything other than a brand spanking new 2TB v.3 then they will be sent on their way until they can provide what was ordered and paid for.

I won't be happy if they give my box to one of you moaning buggers because you can't see a couple of monkeys in pretty colours, at least you already have Sky Q! 😂

Be sure to keep a copy of the receipt you've presumably got there that states clearly on it "you ordered and paid for a 2TB v3 box" to present to the engineer when he arrives.

If I ordered a 2TB box now I certainly would not accept a V1 box but would not care if it was a V2 or 3, infact I would prefer a V2 with the external power unit.

I'll bite.

You know I haven't got that wording exactly, but I ordered over the phone which would have been recorded, I specifically asked for the latest 2TB version of the box, I have an order receipt which shows the all black 2TB version, I now know from this thread what the serial number should be and I'll make sure it matches or installation will be refused.

@Anonymous you probably will get the newest version of the box but customer services can't guarantee that,

what if the depot your engineer works at doesn't have V3 boxes but does have V2, I agree that no new V1 boxes should be installed

Also you say you have a picture of the black 2TB on your receipt how do you know the box in the picture us actually a 2TB box does it show the series number as the new 1TB box looks exactly the same. I'm guessing it's a promotional picture just as before it was a picture of the box with the silver trim even when a 1TB box was ordered

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

I f i remember right if applicable the Engineer will put your dish up first then go to the setting up the box.. you should make your concern's clear to CS so the Engineer is fully aware that you will only expect  a V3 box .. not sure why a V2

Re: Sky HDR

Hi @Anonymous   There is only one all black 2TB box, the ES340d9uk. The so called (on here) as V3.  ES140 is V1 and ES240 is V2.

Keep going. Three pages off the magic 100. Then we can all go home as there cannot be anything more to say on this subject that hasn't been said before.

If you're quick, I think we've still got space to fit in a couple more "I've got a V1 2tb box - how do I get it replaced" posts before we leave.

I actually have a v3 (all black) but, I'm not getting HLG HDR passthrough on my receiver. I should, probably could, I just can't be bothered to sort it in any sort of a rush.

Does that lighten the mood or make it worse?
