Upgrade to new macbook Pro running MacOS Big Sur 11.1
Everything else works but the Sky Go App will not open. It says it is looking for updates. I have uninstalled it and tried to reinstall.
Suggestions please

There have been other posts from people who also can't get the app to run on Big Slur so it looks like for now at least that the app isn;t going to work on this.

I have the same issue trying to install on iMac 27" 2020 running Big Sur - did you get anywhere with the issue? @GJ+Spearing

My Sky Go was working perfectly this morning.
When I just tried to use it, I got a message saying
"Sky Go is currently running. Please close the application to continue installation"
I clicked on "Quit and continue installation" and then promptly went into a loop starting with the above message.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and after wasting 90 minutes of my life have given up.
I use the BBC app, ITV app, Channel 4 app and a zilllion other apps all without issue and yet I continually have problems with Sky for which I now pay £100 a month.
The quality of the Sky Go App for Mac users is nothing short of disgraceful and has been for as long as I can remember.
Sky - when are you going to get your act together and realise there is a world of Apple Users - it is not the world's biggest company for nothing.

I have had exactly the same problem today. It was working this morning but had exactly the same messages and I went round and round in circles, turning my Mac off, restarting etc etc. I have now given up so someone please let me know what is going on.

I am using Big Sur - it was a big enough problem getting Sky Go to work on that (which took some time) so it is infuriating to be thwarted by a so called "upgrade". Surely the word "oxymoron" was never better used than to describe the term "Sky Go Upgrades" .

On the version of Sky Go, it was the latest prior to lunchtime as it automatically upgrades - it was fine when watching the cricket this morning (although the cricket was far from fine).

I wonder if I am the only one who finds it more than mildy irrritating that Sky seems to think that having a User Forum such as this relieves them from having to prepare a proper Help Desk?
Rarely have I seen a company that charges so much for its so called"service" provide so little to those of its users that are in the 21st Century and use Apple Lap Tops. Is that old Australian geezer still running things or is he too busy doing something else?

I watched the Australian open tennis until 12noon today, then for some reason, tried again to watch something else about an hour later and the error messages and frozen screens and sky icons kept appearing below - it was a vicious circle. Says I need to update but won't update me.

I have the Skygo app, I normally just click on the icon and it opens. Just tells me it's downloading, then tells me it's already running in the background and that I have to close it, I've checked and it's not.

I'm trying to install on a new iMac, and it won't let me - installer downloads, runs, then tries to update App and it fails telling me to quit as it is already running (which it is not).
Must be an OS update issue reading other threads?
