Hi,
I have had no broadband service all day, I live in the Tyne and Wear and was wondering if others have experienced the same.

Affecting bt as well. So it sounds like an openreach network issue

Mine still out, the in-laws about 1 mile haven't had a problem. (Now 36h+)
but heard nothing from sky.

Sky won't know if/when the service will be abck as it's an Openreach issue with all the bad weather in area.

It might be an open reach issue, my contract is with Sky, I dont think it would take much to email customers with a update/comment or apology.
instead of appearing to ignore it.

No domestic ISP will do that the overhead is too high and the cost to try would be totally disproportionate for a very partial service. Add in Openreach do not report details of line issues to the ISPs in real time it is impossible for Sky to know if your line has a fault or simply your hub is turned off unless you tell them.
Get a huge storm like Friday's and lines fail its a fact of life unfortunately.

It was the whole area out for 48 hours, but fixed at 12pm today.

Hi,
We live in Aberdeenshire and have had a power cut for the past 3 days. I used to keep an old corded telephone as the telephone line mostly worked fine during a cut (couldn't find it this time!).
Was just wondering is it's likely my Sky Broadband would still have worked during a major outage like this if I'd had Router connected to a UPS?
