Satellite blocked but can’t get broadband services

My neighbour has blocked my satellite with scaffolding.  For the first few weeks I could access my recordings, catch up, on demand etc but now suddenly and for no apparent reason the following message comes up on all broadband channels: "To use this service, you need a satellite signal".

I have rebooted several time.

Any help would be much appreciated.

@Tony+MD

That would be because all Sky television boxes require at least periodic access to a satellite signal to confirm they are covered by an ongoing subscription.

hi @Tony+MD ,

Unfortunately that is the way it works.

The SKY Q box needs a periodioc authorisation signal (a bit like some PC software does) to keep it alive.

It works for a while but eventually without the signal it ceases to function until it gets another signal.

You should still be able to use SKY Go

@Tony+MD  Unfortunately without a Satellite signal your other services will also stop as the box needs a keep alive signal from the satellite , as your dish is blocked your receiver won't get this signal

As your neighbour has blocked your dish perhaps they may pay to get it moved while the scaffold is up?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Thanks for your help everyone.  Strange that the Sky call centre didn't know about this
