Refer a friend. Were we conned by Sky?
My son & his family recently moved house (last week). I convinced him to ditch Virgin & go to Sky in the process.
I claimed a refer a friend code, and forwarded it to them.
When he called to join Sky, and claim the £75 each mastercard, they were told that due to covid, the referal scheme wasn't working, but to call back and claim when it was over.
Sky is now installed, and the code use-by date has passed (was well in date when booked), and I can guess what will happen when they try to claim in the future.
Personally I think they were fed some BS by the Sky sales when they booked it. So between us we're down £150.
I only found this out this morning when I asked if the code worked. They're happy with the Sky, but I'm cheesed off with the affair.

This is happening to me at the min. I referred my mom in March. She had her voucher in April. I'm still waiting. I've been told my complaint has been escalated to complaints 3 times. I havent had a call or anything

Exactly the same thing happened to me and now I can't get through to them at all by phone. So can't get it sorted.

Just so you know, the only way to successfully process this is via the link in the email your "friend" receives from you. The code is auto generated in the online basket and will automatically transfers onto the account.
If you do it over the phone, often it does not work since this is an online offer.
During the initial months of Covid we were not processing the codes due to lower staffing levels. If your code expired, there is very little we can do to get it added on due to it being an online offer specifically.

You mean you have to sign up online, not over the phone? It's in the terms of the offer.

Please can you confirm if you are offering any rewards to refer a friend to sky? The only link I've found seems to have expired end of June.

Today, 10th July I introduced a friend and got the voucher but the same as you the code expired on 25th June!!! Whats going on Sky?

I have been in touch with Sky and there is a technical issue online and they will be updating this early next week. Which will show a later expire date.

Last night 21/09/2020 I looked into my sky and went to the introduce a friend page. It reads as you input your known name and email (not that of the person your referring) . I input my details and received the email with the code. It says forward to your friend so I emailed it and they joined SKY by using the join now button.does anyone know of this was the right thing to do as the email is written as if it's emailed to your friend not you even though sky want your information not your friends.
anyways it was my mother and she has ordered sky tv, broadband and phone how or where does this code come into it and how do you know this has worked?

I to am having the same problem 15/01/2021. Yesterday I filled in the on line form you have to put your name and email. It then sends a e mail to you to forward to a friend which I did but the offer has expired. I forwarded it to them anyway but the link on the e mail does not work.
Sky please advise.
