@Joy39

What is supposed to happen is the broadcaster, so in this case Channel 5, should update the EPG to show that the program started late so will be finishing late that way your Sky Q box will record the film without missing the end. But sadly as you have discovered some channels just don't do this, with Sky Q all you can do is to set a recording for the next program as well.

With regards to this film @Joy39 it is being shown again on Thursday at 11.15am and 12.20pm.

Each broadcaster is responsible for their own entries.

Unfortunately, sometimes the actual broadcasts don't match the schedules spot on & even though we are in a  computer age they don't always manage to get any discrepancies to marry up

Re: Recording start late sometimes then you miss beginning

I am not good at explaining properly.

what I meant was recording started late so missed beginning. But I think I may have sussed out what happened.

with channel 5 films are split into segments. So recording tarted at segment I pressed record button.

I have set again for Thursday from very beginning a see if my theory is correct.
I think it can happen with a film on channel 4 too.

thankyou for responding

Joy

If the film is split into two with something like the news in the middle of it then when you set the recording you should be offered the series link option which you need to use but I'm not sure if that is the case with My Failr Lady.

Yes, Thursday mornings showing of My Fair Lady does have a news segment in the middle. So, @Joy39, you will need to series link or manually set both parts to record.
