They sent an engineer round who agreed with me that the camera can't be up to scratch as it's blurred, but they refuse to admit that there is a problem. I go blurry eyed trying to watch some games.

He means that it's as different quality camera being used from Previous seasons as the picture is awful compared with previous HD Football pictures. The engineer agreed that must be the case too.

raider999 you think we started a thread to highlight wide angle vs close up lenses ?
The point is, some football broadcasts , This Season, have blurry vision on the main pitch wide shots. These from watching MOTD are only on Sky covered games. They were not blurry last season. Cricket on Sky was not blurry. It is something that Sky have deliberately done. Either they are using lower quality cameras / lenses for these shots , or have decided to use a camera that may be better but is incompatible with HD. I did watch Newcastle vs Man U the other night and the picture was fine, so my guess is they do not have enough decent cameras to go around but can cope on an evening when they only have 1 game to cover.

@Angrier2 ... It's definitely something to do with the cameras or software . Sky's worse as it's blurred.
On BT the pic is Dark and Pink so I have to set it to Dynamic and turn the colour down for a watchable pic. However when a game is on in Europe the picture is amazing. Why? I saw a comment on another thread saying they may be waiting for a software update.
Three weeks ago on Amazon a couple of games had an amazing pic then the 2 main ones, one being Everton v Liverpool was washed out and probably worse than Sky.
Tonight both games have a superb 4 k pic on Amazon, so if Amazon can sort out the 4K picture not being Dark and Pink why can't BT?
And Sky!
Let's not confuse matters though. ALL I WANT TO DO IS WATCH SKY FOOTBALL IN HD NOT HDR (4K) as I only have an HD box so it isn't compatible to watch it in 4K. I watch BT and Amazon through Apps on 4 k tv.
It must be something to do with Software but Sky seem to have a different problem. The engineer did say he had a customer who complained that 4K was dark and pink as well but there was nothing they could do.
Can you tell me what equipment you have?
I have 2 old, I think they call them TB boxes and a QLED Samung 4 k tv.
I just wish they would acknowledge the problem. If I knew getting SkyQ would work then I would get it as they offer me it for free.
Pointles going through the hassle if it isn't going to work as I'd lose my recordings, and if it's going to be dark pink 🤔🤔🙈

I use a sky Q box (without the dynamic (is it?) setting to be able to adjust it in any way) but I use it in HD on a Panasonic Plasma HD. So not trying to watch in 4k (yet). Some may say , update to 4k and it fixes the problem , but as discussed the problem is only some football matches (so far).

Dynamic is just the type of pic on a Samsung I.e Movie, Standard, normal, dynamic.
I've seen on here that if you have a sky Q box you can change it back to 2160 8 bit in your settings and this will improve the pic/set it back to expect to receive HD not UHD.
Unfortunately I can't try that as I have an old box. I'm hoping the old box is the problem but it would be nice of sky to be able to confirm this as the picture is definitely better on SkyGo. Surely their engineer could have confirmed this to me.
SkyQs are apparently set to 2160 10 bit for HDR so if you want to watch in HD that's the fix apparently. Type in 10 bit to 8 bit on here.
Gadgie1 post Aug 21 gives you the link in how to change it.
Please can you let me know if your pic is better on skygo for football after the weekend and if changing to 8 bit works.
Cheers

That's the bit I could not do when I referred to "dynamic" - old Q box as well so that does not appear to be available.

So I have had sky Premier league on my PC this afternoon. No problem watching Brentford vs AV.
But now the "game of the day is on" and what do we get ?
Blurry vision !
Its so obvious there is a massive difference in the quality.
This is on PC so the TV set / does not come into the equation , sky Q box does not come into it and the strength of my internet is absolutely fine.
My guess is that the camera they use sometimes is UHD but it is incompatible with HD

Oh dear. So getting SkyQ might not help me either.
I'm the same. Villa game was as bad as usual but this Game is awful, Helluva blurry from afar and even a bit juddery at the start.
Thanks for the update.

Just checked SkyGo on IPad and definitely a lot better. No idea what's wrong with your PC if you are viewing through skyGo.
May be SKYQ will help me 🙈

@Angrier2 I can't understand why you don't watch it through your sky Q on a TV. The UHD/HDR picture is perfect..
