As above, we have been informed in our closed forums.

It will arrive Tuesday November 16th on Sky Q, Sky+ and Sky Go
If you are thinking its an app, think again...

Will arrive on Sky Glass later.

Hope everyone is ready for the "It's not fair", "Glass customers are losing out, we pay more" etc etc.....

This is why Peacock sould be an app like it is in the US.

There's not enough content to fill an app though. They still need to spread content amongst Sky channels to ensure continued new and recent programming.

In the US, they're able to use Universal movies (we have Sky Cinema for that), as well as reality programming (we have hayu for that). There's also sports on there like Premier League and various other bits, plus WWE pads the service out considerably.

Other than tentpole Universal/NBC archive shows, and the handful of Peacock Originals not already given licensing deals elsewhere, there's not that much available.

The Peacock app itself is built using the NOW platform (and I would guess by entension the various Sky platforms) so why create a whole new app when they have something already built that can host the content with little trouble... also bear in mind this isn't a third party service like Apple or Netflix, it's a corporate sibling which I will assume Sky will be running on behalf of NBCU so why wouldnt you natively integrate it? If Sky ever decide to bring Hayu into the mix, I woud imagine it'll also be available natively and not an app like it is on NOW.

If they decide to take Peacock into market as a seperate proposition then by all means create an app but at the moment I think getting it onto Sky as a native proposition and without a barrier or need for a sign-up makes more commercial sense especially if they want to scale it fast.

Keep in mind that just because something is available on the US version, it might not be available in the UK. Married... with Children wasn't a Universal production so it's entirely possible that they've agreed on terms specifically for the US to host it, just as they've done for various other programming. The most likely reason for this is to pad the service out.

They could well have agreed on terms to host third-party programming here in the UK but in a worst case scenario, don't be surprised if it isn't available. For what it's worth - it was always a big favourite of mine and I'd love to re-watch it... if it hasn't aged badly!

I would expect Married with Children to be on Star if it's not on Peacock.

It's nothing to do with Disney either.

It was a Sony production.

Re: I got told over the phone by a sky advisor it would be an...

And you just have to go back to the press release in July where they did state it was going to draw on the NBCU library... so unless there's a international licensing pact for any 3rd party programming I expect the U.K. Peacock variant to be far more focused on NBCU's own stuff - and Sky picking up the slack for 3rd party shows.

Still, for something launching tomorrow they're being awfully quiet on any kind of press announcement even if this appears to be a soft launch.

Running as a channel rather than an app also means that it's accessible on the many millions of Sky+ HD boxes still out there.

Re: Peacock TV to sky

I think it will be on trial like discovery plus  then you start paying if you want to pay just as an introductory price for the sky q sky plus and glass customers etc but it does say that an app will be available at a later date I know I'm happy 😊

Or as has been said, running as On Demand/Box Sets.
