Ironically, given 'his' Bond is not canon, Niven himself was far closer to the actual character than any of the other actors who are widely known in the role.

It's such a funny film, the story is nothing  like the book - but I love it all the same and have it on the ol DVD : )

  @Skull+Treaty & @TimmyBGood Yes, you're right, I did forget that one but I have seen it. As for being funny, that probably had something to do with the authors of the screenplay which included Woody Allen, Peter Sellers & Billy Wilder.
