Just checked Coronation Street.  4th and 7th Aug's episodes were in one stack, under a "Series 64" tab.  9th's episode is under a "Series 65" tab , while 11th's episode is under an "Other" tab.  14th's episode is under "Series 64" tab.

I have just come back from holiday to find the exact same situation (different episodes under Series 64, Series 65 and Other tabs).

I was only away 9 days but a pain to work out what order to watch as the ones under 'Other' do not have episode numbers on. Must be awful for people away for several weeks.

I have followed this discussion on-and-off but this is the first time it has happened to me as I only changed from Sky+ to Sky Q fairly recently and this was the first time I have been away.

My parents changed to Sky Q a couple of years ago and hate it for this reason. They go on cruises that last from 4 to 6 weeks and when they get back have an absolute nightmare trying to find the order to watch episodes. They nevewr had this issue over many years oh Sky+

Is it only Emmerdale and Corrie that are affected now? They're constantly messed up for me even after fully deleting every episode, but everything else I record seems fine.

It would appear not! Are you out there Sky? Or have we just been abandoned?

Re: Non Stacking of Recordings - Better but not solved!

The issue is that we can only report on our own observations.  For example, it's more likely that the likes of Emmerdale, Coronation Street, etc. will have more viewers and therefore more people on this forum who have multiple episodes recorded, compared to say "Border Patrol".

For me these are the ones that definitely have issues:

  • Emmerdale (multiple tabs since last year, new issue observed in the last two weeks where 2 episodes were placed in its own stack.)
  • Coronation Street (multiple tabs since last year, still ongoing)
  • Hollyoaks (multiple tabs since last year, have recordings going back to March in three tabs in one stack)

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Mine have been good again last week or so, but last two days on Drama for Classic Eastenders, three of the four recordings had blank thumbnails and one of the episodes dropped into Other.
It is more annoying that it is so random.

Re: Non Stacking of Recordings - Better but not solved!

This has been happening to me for months now and it drives me mad.  I also have to physically record Coronation Street and Emmerdale even though they are on series link, it works for Mondays but not for any other day.

Also I have noticed that sometimes there will be a seperate recording, i.e. not with the other series linked records, there is a new tile.  I can spend ages looking for which order I have to watch them in.

Is there going to be a resolution soon, or does nobody from Sky read these forums?

@Test+Man

Mine too. Sky told me to get rid of all recordings, totally delete them and then find them on demand. Same for emmerdale. Been told it's not sky at fault but itv at fault.  I said I'm with sky so it's up to sky to take it up with itv. But apparently it's not and that's that he said.

Re: Non Stacking of Recordings - Better but not solved!

Apologies for posting here but I have a question about an issue I'm having with my EPG and given that metadata was something mentioned as being the problem behind the non stacking/blank tiles issue, I'm also wondering whether the same meta data issue could affect my box but with the EPG instead of the non stacking/blank tiles being reported on this thread. I was only barely affected by the non stacking etc issue- only a couple of shows and I don't watch the soaps and I'm more affected by the EPG issue.

The EPG issue means that my weekly series links aren't able to be picked up because every channel is 'waiting for tv schedule' and while on occasion it may eventually update, it doesn't always happen. There is no rhyme or reason to when this will happen, I may go a week or so without it happening or, like now, it's happening daily. A box reboot resolves but it's only temporary, as is with other solutions offered which is why I'm wondering whether the metadata issue originally mentioned here could also be affecting my box but affecting my EPG instead? Does this make sense to anyone with knowledge of this? It's been a small issue for a couple of years for me but has got so much worse since last October/November which is when people were reporting the non stacking etc issue here.

Again, apologies for hijacking the thread but I'm at my wits end with this (there's a thread about this started by Greytide17 if you're interested/curious) and wondering if anyone could have any ideas/theories.

@Ray+Keenan

Strangely this has also started happening on my box in the last couple of weeks

No pattern to it for me .. except like you waiting for tv schedule does solve some issues

This might be more evidence that it is a cacheing or edge server synchronisation problem that is the root cause of the issue.
