Just had another update from Sky on this

 

This is 2 months after the last update 

 

shows the priority Sky are giving this issue

And now suddenly this evening Sky Go on our 2 iPads and iPhones declared that they had discovered our Sky Q box and we could view it's recordings. And the footer now has a 'recordings' tab and it's all working. Great - I hope it stays that way!

no longer have the recording button on sky go app.  Unable to see my recorded programs.  Sky technical team are unable to provide an answer despite troubleshooting the living daylights out of my phone and sky boxes.  It connected to my sky Q box for approx. 7 hours 2 weeks ago and just stopped working again.  Sky have refused to acknowledge this as a known issue.  Any suggestions?  I am now out of contract and Netflix, Amazon Virgin and Disney plus platforms are seemingly more appealing every day....

I am waiting to hear from them to see if it's a known issue for which they are trying to find a fix. I spoke to a lovely ladymat Sky support who did her best but, ultimately, couldn't help. My issue is the same as yours except that until recently I've never had an issue with Sky Go. Last used successfully in March.

Not sure if someone already answered this.  In the IOS phone settings, locate the SkyGo app and make sure "Local Network" is enabled.

So I've found out what the problem has been with Sky Go on our iPads. Every time the Sky Q box restarted it acquired a new IP address from the router but the iPad caches the old address and doesn't scan for the box but just uses the old IP address which fails. My cure was to allocate a fixed IP address to the Sky Q box and restart the router. A few hiccups while everything sorted out the new IP addresses but it works reliably now. So really Apple's fault not Sky's  this time.

That's not typical behavior for a DHCP server though: by default you'd expect a 'renew' to be actioned halfway through the lease time so the same address remains in use.

Hi

 

Any resolution to this?

I cant see any Recordings button on the app that I downloaded to either my phone or tablet. It worked 2 years ago but not now - that doesn't make sense.

There doesn't seem to be any indication of a connection between my app and the main Q box.

Hi. As of today 25/2/22 my ipad is having trouble under recordings tab only. Everything else like watching live is OK 

 

It doesn't show any most recent recordings or recent or scheduled..

 

My iPhone works with the app fine.

 

I have uninstalled and it is toggled to connect.

Any ideas please.

Mine is the same.

I have restarted my iPad and deleted app several times. Recordings tab is there but no recordings showing. 
I have also rebooted my sky Q box and it is still not working.
