Need 4K in summer house

What options do I have to get 4K in to my summer house? I already have an Ethernet cable connected to mini box, but want the 4K out there now due to tv upgrade.

The Q minis only output 1080p maximum, if you wanted UHD then you would have to move the main box and all the satellite dish cabling.  This would then mean the other TV wouldn't get UHD either.

Only a main Q box can output UHD, and that has to have the dish-feed cable reaching it.

Alternatively, look at Sky Glass (while being very aware that it's not 'Q+')

Hi @Fred12345688   If you change to Sky Glass then you could have a 4K Puck in your summer house.

You can connect a laptop to the TV and as long as the laptop is running at 4k, you would get UHD with Sky Go. You might not get HDR.

Don't think Go has any native UHD content, though, so it would just be upscaled HD the same as output from a Mini would be (plus a roaring laptop fan ; )

I did plug my laptop into the TV and was able to see that I could download UHD. I don't know if I could get HDR as I wasn't able to set the laptop to 10-bit (just 8-bit).

No noise with my surface Go 2 but equally no UHD.

Apparently the Pro 7 and Pro 8 can output UHD to external display despite not having true UHD panels themselves.  I dread to think what that might do to the flaky screen detection in Sky Go, though ; )

Thank you, maybe a set of temporary satellite cables to trail across the garden, and swap set top boxes for the big movie and sporting events. Doesn't seem very 2021 lol. Just got 75 inch tv ordered for it, so sky glass no good, snd I use the mini box WiFi mesh.

Satellite television reception over coaxial cable is very 1980s ; )

You can set the screen to just be the 4k TV. So there would not be a problem detecting that the screen is 4k. It does work. I've done it.
