I spoke to Sky again about this issue yesterday. They said its probably a software problem and they sent me a replacement box which came today. So far so good. Picture has not stopped or flickered. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I had my Sky Q box replaced about 4 months ago, the old box started off with black screen and then eventually completely stopped. Today 23/1/2022 I have noticed the intermittent black screen. I recorded a few programs and each off them has the problem. Checked live TV and thats seems fine and I even check some old recordings they too seem ok. To test this, I would give the program 10 minutes, it takes the recent recordings a few minutes to start flickering. So for me this has got to be a hard drive issue. Another thing to note is the noise coming from the HD, usually its fairly quiet, so when the black screen occures have a listen to the HD. I went through my recordings and deleted a lot of old stuff to see if this helps free up space and avoid dead spots on the HD. Shouldnt have to but keeping a 1000 episodes of neighbours isnt necessary anyway.

Just a note. I deleted the recent recordings and because rerecord just recovers the original, I went and deleted it FOREVER and deleted everything else FOREVER, freed up about 6% space, even though we had only used about 21% in the first place.
I completely rerecord the program and at the moment no black screen. At this point I would definitely say Black intermittent screen is a HD issue.
PS, before black screen happens, does anyone else notice black lines quickly appear before the screen goes black, they could be a few seconds apart.

I have an LG tv about 2yrs old. Chanel 5 went black when I dropped the Q remote. No sound no picture all other Chanels worked. Tried for an hour, everything on here and more.
Ok, here's what I did. Out of curiosity I picked up the LG remote and went to Chanel 5 whilst still on HDMI 3 the Q box setting. Still on LG remote to my surprise Chanel 5 was working. I went to Q remote to Ch 5 and it was there, sound and picture, fixed.
