A full 1080p tv will require 10Mbps and uhd up to 25Mbps.  Those are requirements that cannot be delivered whilst his lordship is engaged in heavy downloads 😁

It's a nightmare! I have 2 Xbox's going  at the same time. He didn't even think it could of been him 2 hours ago when he see I was on the phone to sky and constantly switching the router on and off 🙄

I'm sure the kids would find a way to hog most of that too 🙂

it doesn't help that I'm a student and need good broadband for lectures too, combine that with school holidays... it's been a nightmare!

Hiya - my wi-fi broadband keeps dropping but all 4 lights remain green on my 1 month old SR203 router-Firmware Version7.01.0902.R - does anyone have any suggestions please?

yes - TV loses connection to catch up and downloading box sets(red button services) and attached fire stick services drop too. Laptop and devices display "no internet connection" with "!" against wi-fi bars. Give it an hour and it works again

happens most days which is becoming inconvenient

Do you have sky +hd or sky q?

 

Do you see other ssid's on your devices. Just wondering if someone else network is interferring with you own

  • sky + hd
  • only a couple of other networks from other peoples houses i visit
  • other available networks are locked and never show available or selected and are all padlocked

Maybe seperating wifi bands and allocating affected devices to the 5ghz band may sort out interference on 2.4ghz.

 

- Log onto router and go to wifi
- Go to 5ghz band and untick synchronise 2.4ghz and 5ghz
- Go to 5ghz ssid and add -5g at the end
- Save
- Go to individual devices and assign wifi band accordingly

 

Also do you have any of the following devices

 

Zigbee

Baby monitors

Microwave ovens etc that may interfere with 2.4ghz

Or anything that broadcasts its own ssid
