So having changed my Sky Wi-Fi password, I have tried to update the Sky Q box. It has stopped access to various services, but everytime I go to settings it says the network is connected. I have reset it, turned it all on/off, reset but still to no avail.

Anyone any ideas?

To be clear, have you gone to Settings / Setup / Network / Reset, and selected the wifi and entered the password there?
