I have a payment extension on my account my services have been turned of an it won't let talk to anyone on the phone to give the reference number they have to get it back on.

I'm afraid regardles of any agreed extension Skys billing system is fully automated and wil restrict services due to non payment.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Caza+d you could try calling from a phone not linked to your Sky account. Or try dialling 141 before Sky's number.
