I am intersted in the sky glass but does it take headphones

I have headphones which I pair with my sky tv now but no person on sky could answer my question.  Would they still pair with the Sky glass format

Hi,

There is no headphone option it was something i needed too.

I purchased:

PROZOR HDMI Audio Extractor

which worked perfectly and not expensive, plug this into the EArc hdmi socket and attach your headphones/headphones receiver to it.

Re: I am intersted in the sky glass but does it take headphones

I have just received a SKY GLASS television and there is no Bluetooth connection /facility within the sets internal settings to enable wireless headphones or anything external such as a sound bar. I would think SKY would be in the loop about all the modern forms of technology. I am contemplating sending it back as there is no point in having it as I am not inclined to mess around connecting the headset or a sound bar.

@SJW75  There is no Bluetooth capability within glass other than for voice activation on the remotes

as far as we know sky don't have plans to add this functionality

Sky were reported to be 'investigating the issue'.  One significant factor is whether the Bluetooth provision on the Glass SoC is actually capable of dealing with additional 'profiles'.

" Among the other complaints has been that the device doesn't support wireless headphones, with a handful of Sky help forum posts offering potential workarounds for people hard of hearing.

Sky News was told that adding support for bluetooth headphones was something the company is exploring. "

As I mentioned, if the Bluetooth element of the Glass SoC doesn't support A2DP then it can't happen.

Presumably Bluetooth output is also an additional processor overhead which a Glass set may not be happy with.

Re: I am intersted in the sky glass but does it take headphones

Bluetooth is a defined spec (thats certifed also) - while the sw might not support it today, the hardware certainly will.

If enough ask for it, or if Sky see commercial sense, it'll be on a development backlog for impacting...
