Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I would add, Sky could help themselves massively by providing a statement-> we apologise, it isn't supposed to work like this. It should work as follows...... and we are working to bring that to you.

that for me would bring me hope they understand the issue, and what should be expected, even if it doesn't work properly today.

that might give me some more patience.

Sky Glass 55, 2 pucks, LG OLED, Sonos Arc, surrounds and sub.

I fully agree with that, if they would just communicate lets us know they are trying to fix it, even if somone from viewer relations would jump on this discussion with an apology and an update.

Not so hard for them to do as you can bet your bottom dollar that sky have a team somewhere that follows all the discussions taking place.

Do the right thing Sky and give us an official update

Why a premium product such as Sky/Now TV takes so much longer to have the shows available, and makes them so hard to find is beyond me.

Sky are very good at creating the illusion they are offering a 'premium product.' It's not. It's a mass market service, delivered by mass produced hardware, manufactured as cheaply as they possibly can, in order to maximise profits. It's simple business sense.

Sport is their big cash cow though. If they keep making a hash of how they deliver it, particularly on Glass, then customers will start to walk. Probably not in enough numbers to harm them though. It's important to keep hassling them though. Things need to improve.

ok, still no race in the playlist today, got qualy and all practice sessions but no race lol. This would be hilarious if I wasnt paying for it !!

Watched all yesterday live without issue luckily but just found out it was all in 4k / HDR so wanted to see it today and have a closer look but nothing there.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Everyone seems to have slight differences with regards to the issues.

None of us can see it in the play list for 24 to 48hrs

some cant watch from the start (even if they have already started watching put on pause then the pause stops )

others were able to watch live but not in UHD

i was one of the luck ones in that respect i was able to watch live and in UHD (thank goodness for small mercies.

mind you it did cost me £50n loss of earnings plus the £25 monthly cost.

everything that has gone in my playlist is also in UHD and i can watch from any point I choose.

those that watch live did you change your standard  download settings to Auto ? i left mine set to UHD

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I had the setting on HD and now watching the race in UHD currently on Lap 30

Everything was in the play list this morning. It is a farce and I suspect that SKY won't give a toss and we will have the same this weekend. I will again have to watch on Monday. IT IS A F****** JOKE

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I just spoke to a Sky Glass customer service agent who was very friendly (and knew about the issue) but basically:

:: They know it's a problem and as it stands it's unlikely that F1 races will be available to view until the following day

:: The problem is with the business team to try and find a solution with a software update

:: There is no timeline for this. It could be days, weeks or longer

:: If you ask, they will add your account number to the complaint and let you know when it is being sorted

:: That being the case, I would urge everyone on here to phone up and register the same problem!

I then spoke to someone in cancellations who said that while I could cancel the Sky element I can't return the Glass - it's my TV now. I said I'd consider it misselling and he said I would have to escalate that. I'm not going to jump to change so it's something I'll return to if they don't fix it.

This bit is particularly bad, for me : ":: They know it's a problem and as it stands it's unlikely that F1 races will be available to view until the following day"

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

I just spoke with Sky CS as well. Really helpful agent who listened to my complaints and went and did some digging on our behalf.

The UHD streaming is a known issue with Glass that is being worked on. It is impacting all UHD sport, not just the F1. The recommendation is to remove any F1 from playlists and then put it back on ensuring that HD not UHD is the viewing option. The HOPE is that this will mean you can watch from start and start the 'recording' from almost immediately after the live event.

Won't know if this fix works until next weekend when I am out for qualifying again and will want to watch it as soon as I am back. Fingers crossed, but expectations being managed!

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

@Boris+Dog

Not to rain on this particular parade but I anticipated something like this and removed everything from my playlists prior to the F1 race on Saturday night, and re-added everything ready for Sunday. Alas, it was exactly the same and nothing worked.

I also had a chat with cancellations on Sunday morning, and asked about cancelling and had the same response as others, to which I asked how does it work since during the cancellation period Sky F1 on Glass worked as expected, but now after the cancellation period the service has been fundamentally changed. So the Glass device is basically useless for that purpose. They didn't have an answer for that unsurprisingly.

Re: How is the new F1 season going so far, any issues?

Sky can't even give us all the same information I was told nothing about registering my complaint so that they could me and the rest of us up to date.
when I pushed hard on cancelling the whole account even sky glass tv they were willing to cancel the credit agreement on the glass tv.
they seem more than happy to let you go rather than expedite a permanent fix.
if we were under contract for the tv package it might have made them put a rush on the fix. I bet it would have been sorted by now if it were happening to Sky Q customers

They are certainly charging a premium for it!

If you have Sky Go the race, build up, and post race (and the F2) all showed up on that a lot faster than on Sky Glass.  This morning Go on the Xbox has the whole lot, but still the TV doesn't.

Be aware that there was a long standing issue with Q boxes suffering random audio drop-outs which rumbled on for over a year before it was fixed. Over a year

During that period I kept hassling them about it and negotiated a substantial reduction in my subscription costs until the issue was fixed. Many people were allowed to end their 18 month Q contracts early without penalty too, largely down to the fact that Sky couldn't say how long it would take to fix. It sounds like a similar situation here with Glass.

I agree. Particularly when it comes to sport. It's their cash cow. I don't watch sport and have negotiated a fair price for the Q services that my household use, as many others have done who do watch sport.

Glass, being in its infancy and run on shorter monthly contracts, can't offer the same levels of discount for a streaming service which isn't up to scratch yet.
