Hi @GNinga

This release has the following;

Voice Guidance - Text to speech voice assistance for blind and visually impaired customers within the menus. This is available in Settings> Accessibility> Voice Guidance

Voice Control has moved to the top of the screen

Disney+ Integration - Disney+ content will now be shown in search and in the menus

Fixes and UI changes

synopsis size and Keep & Lock appearing on the show pages

- sound improvements for v2 boxes mainly around video on demand content and an issue that

stopped people from watching HDR trailers.

- some stability and connectivity improvements

These notes are copied from a recent post by @lettice

@GNinga  The release notes said fixed sound drop outs on some v2 boxes - possibly.

Like everyone else, I've had sound dropping out for a split second on live TV and downloaded programs. Anything from once in an hour to 10 times. Tried new leads and waited for software updates. So hi just phoned sky to get some answers. All they could do is book a engineer. So that will be a waste of time, i guess. They come next week. Update v 15 didn't help at all.

Engineer visits achieve nothing. They may swap your box but be warned, if you have an HDR enabled V3 they may replace it with a non-HDR V1 box due to the supply constraints on the V3 at the moment. This will potentially solve the audio drop-out issue (as V1's aren't affected in the same way V3's are) but you'll be left without HDR...

All you can really do is wait for the Q160 software update and see if it is the miracle cure that Sky need it to be.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

The Disney+ integration already seems flakey. Programmes are listed as cbeebies or Disney+, but selecting the cbeebies episode opens Disney+, which is annoying.

@fizzdisco  Absolutely, the Q160 update is the final chance of credibility remaining for sky!

Had my engineer visit today which I had to agree to for discount on bill new box made it 3 hours before a drop out lol still if they keep discounting the bill I may stay with it till the new software update I'm under no illusion there's actually any fix from sky at all for this till a version 4 box

@Quoman7  I think the statements around sound improvements is somewhat vague

"sound improvements for v2 boxes mainly around video on demand content and an issue that

stopped people from watching HDR trailers."

I can't remember ever hearing anyone on these forums complaining about not being able to watch UHD trailers.

And exactly what "improvements" did this update actually deliver ? There is no mention of sound drop outs etc.

@CyberFriday I think @simon194 has had sound dropouts on a V 2 box and has stated that that with Q15 they seem to have stopped so far

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband

Just another member to add to the list! I've had enough of this! We fork out good money for our av equipment and at the moment, the only let down in my system is SKY! The sound drop outs whilst watching any content is terrible.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Dropouts getting worse for me.

Getting tempted to give my notice to leave and go back to Virgin or get Freesat.

Such a shame as I really like SkyQ... apart from the annoying audio glitches!

When I last spoke to CS I was told that although I'm still within my 18 month contract, if I decide to leave a 'no ETC' notice has been put on my account so I won't be charged for leaving. Anyone else had this?

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

@wdhayden

Yes,  I now have this in my contract following my call to Sky a few weeks ago, also as I posted at the time they agreed to drop the recent price increase as well.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Oddly enough, we didn't notice a single frame or sound drop yesterday and none so far today (touch wood). 🤔

Nothing's changed either, still on Q150.

@Scobo Don't get too excited. I can go days without a dropout, but they always return.

Early indications of Q150 are for me it makes no difference whatsoever.
