Giving Sky a cancellation date?

Hello all.

I received 18 months of Sky free with my See The Light installation and it runs out on 22nd August.

I already know I will not be continuing the contract and wondering if I can ring them now and tell them I want to cancel in 2 months on the 22nd? Or is there some arbitary amount of days before the contract ends?

I think you can only give 31 days notice to cancel a TV package so when you do give them this make sure you ask for confirmation of it via email. I don't think they will take 2 months notice possibly because their system can't handle a longer notice period.

@jmaokay  As per @caesarome  give notice to cancel 31 days before your minimum term expires not before otherwise you face early termination charges

Yes, my understanding too - from previous forum posts, Sky appear not to be able to accept more than 31 days notice
