Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I think Never Miss was Skys USP over those of the plethora of streaming services appearing.

Finding content to watch is becomming a chore, we often can't be bothered to trawl through Netflix etc Sky was worth paying extra for, as with Never Miss and the best content from various providers , it simplified this process.  This is not the case anymore, and I feel more content is disappearing, probablly sold to other streaming services.  e.g wheres the final season of How to Get Away with Murder?  Why is the next Billions not there?  There are no Sky programmes in the planner now, and without watching Sky will not see adverts for new series also.

As for Sky offering better alternatives to Never Miss, I noticed by chance Holby was on BBC1 last night. Despite it being series linked in the past, it didn't record.

Just hoping F1 will be available elsewhere soon, and I'll be cancelling after 30 years.

Didn't really answer my question. I know they've got rid of it, I asked why?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Picture not loading sorry guys. This was what was said...

Me: @SkyHelpTeam why have you got rid of the never miss website? I use it all the time to be able to know when a programme I missed will be re-airing, when a new series of a programme I like will be on or when a movie I want to see is airing. I record straight from the emails then.

Sly Help Team: Hi there🙂 As of Monday the 18th May the Never Miss feature has been permanently removed, this means there will no longer be emails sent out regarding returning shows they may have set up. The Sky.com Never Miss web page has been updated on the back of this.^TS

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Further correspondence on Twitter;

Me: Any reason why though? I can see a lot of people on your Sky community are frustrated about this, myself included. It’s not as if you’ve replaced me it with a better feature. There is now no way to set reminders when a show starts & there wasn’t even any warning, to my knowledge.

Sky Help Team: This was a business decision, something we don't have information on I'm afraid. I can appreciate some customers will miss having this and they found beneficially There hasn't been a replaced feature at this time for Never Miss & wasn't advised prior to this happening.^TS

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Totally agree with many other posts. Never Miss was very much a value add service that was one of the few reasons I have stuck with SKY for many years.

With the issues that F1 can only be watched live in Sky Go and now cancelling Never Miss, I am seriously going to look at alternative TV providers.

They did not even warn us so we could make a note of all the programmes I ha set in Nevermiss!

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I can't believe Sky Never Miss has ended. They didn’t even send out an email, so I've been waiting for Sky Never miss to remind me of things without knowing that it has been canceled. Stupid Sky. I recently renewed but if I knew Never miss had gone, I would have cancelled.

The evil hand of Comcast strikes. Who would have thought we would want Murdoch back?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Spoiler
I wonder if the removal of NM is somehow due to fact it kept working when you left sky?

I left for now tv about 4 years ago before coming back in February, but for those 4 years I still had access to NM.

Like many others, I've spent the last week or so looking for alternatives and for UK broadcasts there is nothing that comes close. So now I'm reduced to a spreadsheet of the shows I can remember from my list and a federal to geektown every week to check the status. It's like going back 10 years.

It sounds like sky won't or can't reconsider, so let's hope they take the software which ran NM and embed it in the boxes somehow.

Sorry, no idea how I posted that as a spoiler and I can't edit it! Rest assured there are no spoilers in there, just me ranting.

Watching Neflix tonight as it's better value for money and has much better features, as well as Email recomendations from a company that values its customers.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@pault1964  that's the exact same point i made, the more stuff we watch on demand, or recorded off the box (and fast forwarding the advters) how are we supposed to know when certain series are returning?! Because we can't rely on series link always working.

My Sky box is currently recording Doc Martin (an older series) because it is series linked, but if i remove that series link then it won't record the new series when it does return (if it even works)

Think Sky seem to think that users only watch new series of stuff, but what they don't understand is that users want to watch older stuff as well, or know for example when Billions is returning!! And of course anything new now, won't be new next year so we will want to know when it returns again.

My set up;
Sky Q - full package with 2TB HDR box & 4 mini boxes, all hardwired by ethernet.
Sky Superfast Broadband.
Panasonic 50" 4K TV.
Panasonic 4k Bluray Player.
Sonos 5.1 Surround Sound System.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

This was one of the most useful and most used items on the web page for following series and when old series/programmes were to be shown.

The new on screen system is absolutely useles and this along with some other reduction in the quality of the service is causing us to reconsider Sky for Freeiew or Apple.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Started to watch Space Force on Netflix, not missing sky at the moment, might be a thing of the future espically if on-line platforms get more football rights
