Customer for 20 years

Had Glass on Tuesday. Its rubbish so I've got rid. Someone said they would phone me to help with return on Thursday!!! They didn't rinf so I rang them again and arranged return. Got transferred to another dept to switch Q back on and they couldn't sort it so said they would ring me on Friday at 9am..... Guess what?? They didn't ring.... I've decided I'll go to freeview and see what's it all about.... It will save me £110 a month.

So from being a happy customer on Monday paying £110 a month to getting sky glass and realising that it's not good and by Saturday i have no sky TV for the first time in 20 years and I'm saving a fortune because of sky's appalling customer service and rubbish "upgrade"

Sky Glass was never marketed as an upgrade, it is a new product for those who couldn't or didn't want a dish at their property.  No one is forced to go from Sky Q to Glass.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Customer for 20 years

I didn't get a chance to buy glass but the customer service around the launch and reviews like this one are pushing me to try freeview, with Netflix/Amazon/Disney+ It's not far off sky.

My failed sky sound box and now failed attempt to pre register for glass has just left me feeling quite bitter.

Re: Customer for 20 years

To be honest I imagined the product would be essently a Q Box built into a good TV. An upgrade in being de cluttered at least.

I've been taken back by the negative reviews. The TV and sound setup look great and seem like good value. It's a shame they didn't just release the TV to add to a Q package.

Re: Customer for 20 years

Well I am a very long term customer and was so excited by the sky glass release - we were about to update our tv so when sky said about sky glass - two birds one stone  sorted.

got it delivered looks impressive - BUT

what a load of crap - the picture is no better than the 12 year old Samsung it was replacing - it doesn't matter how hard you adjust it you just can't get it right - we have three other 4K TVs around the house and they are crystal clear - this however is not - the sound is absolutely no where near what the sky soundbox is, it always sounds tinny compared and the complete lack of channels compared to sky Q is terrible - I made sure that the package we had on sky Q remained the same with glass but no - it didn't we are missing loads of channels - movies - music - Shopping loads - I rang to complain to be told 22 more channels are being added last week - non appeared !
it's slow and extremely sluggish - cumbersome is a good word - it's hardwired to our virgin fibre and we have their top package so there is no problem there

it's just crap - absolute crap - so so so dissapointed and feel that I was misled with their sales pitch.
needles to say it's going back and the twelve year old Samsung's going back until we can get a new one along with sky Q.
I feel terrible moaning so much cos I love sky and always have but this is beyond the pale - sorry but unless you can either wait for the third or fourth generation of sky glass I wouldn't bother

Re: Customer for 20 years

I had Sky Glass early on 23rd of October and I knew what I was getting with the package having been a Sky Q customer.

The TV has been troublesome to say the least with the main faults being frozen picture or loss of sound or both and sometimes the TV just shuts down and will sometimes restart. This problems occur every day but it's odd that none of these problems occur watching from the playlist so I generally save and watch stuff off my playlist to get uninterrupted viewing!

I've full fibre broadband to my property and getting 145mps download speed so that shouldn't be the cause of the problem.

I took this up,with Sky per their contact number and they were quite helpful and explained that a number of software upgrades had been issued and it was confirmed I had the latest software installed. However none of these had solved the issues so without prompting they stated they'd replace the set and I'm getting the replacement next week and just hope it is a fault with my current tv but wondered if anyone else had had these issues. Mine is the 43' TV

Fingers crossed the new one will work as designed.
