BBC Three HD/SD hasn't launched in Ireland yet. I contacted them on Twitter and they said:

"We are still waiting on confirmation on the date and channel numbers [BBC Three] will be on the ROI EPG."

Renaming channels, apart from confusing people, seems to have no real purpose, I suppose Sky marketing likes it but I am not sure anyone else does.

I agree.

To some degree I can understand some of the Cinema Channel temporary renames when the channel is themed during the change.

I never understand why they go to the effort of changing  SKY Golf  to become SKY  Masters or SKY  Open or similar for the week of that tournament to me.  There again I guess I would never get a job in marketing!

It's hardly much of an effort for them and it highlights that Sky have exclusive coverage of a Major tournament so I don't really mind these particular changes.

Other changes do seem a bit pointless but as I don't watch them, I'm not going to lose sleep over them... Not saying you lose sleep 😛

Comcast does not go about renaming the Golf Channel based on the tournament being played.

Think there used to be a SkyCinema Select. It would make more sense to call it that.

I have no objection to Sky Cinema Christmas at Christmas but that is slightly different

It is nonsense to rename the sport channels. Yet you have Sky Sports F1 that quite honestly dies NOT need to be on air 365 days if the year. This channel could become something else during the summer break and out of season ue between late November and March when there are no F1 races

I hope Sky c ok nsiders this in future.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - January 2022

So i'm in London and BBC 3 has appeared on 117 on my Sky Q box, not the suggested number I'd seen above.

As a result London Live has disappered.

How do i "tell" my box I'm in London?

I don't use this community much - just got an email saying someone had replied.  Get Access Denied clicking on that link and nothing visible here.  Frustrating.
