Re: Sky Ireland: Radio and Music channels disappeared?

@Madgec1Those stations will not have a valid license once Brexit happens on Jan 1st, so they've had to stop broadcasting in Ireland 😞

@Chloe-W22 wow that's a shock, there does not seem to have been any communicaiton of this in the media here in Ireland or direct from Sky by email or post to us. That's a lot of stations to suddenly lose witout warning........  what else do we risk losing that is not on your list?

Unlikely - nor do they have to.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - December 2020

I think it's a disgrace that sky seem to be cashing in on brexit as of today Ireland have lost 42 channels all the music channels etc just not good enough we pay exorbitant money every month and this happens not one bit happy listened to gold everyday as we are in our 60s would like a reason why thanks

Sky can't do anything about it, it is down to the individual channel. The regulations are changing on the 1st January and these channels would need to be licenced separately for Ireland to continue being listed on the Irish EPG. The most anyone can do is contact the broadcasters to express your disapointment and if lots of people do that they might reconsider.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - December 2020

Whilst we all expected Brexit related changes, a bit of notice of the cancellation of rafts of stations would have been good!

I'm disgusted that a decision is made like this in advance of any deal, without notifying customers. I will be cancelling sky at the earliest opportunity.

Netflix executives must be laughing their head off at this own goal by sky... Doh!!

The channels would have known they were closing before they informed Sky, are you saying that the channels did not inform their viewers? If so then this is disgusting though not Sky's fault

People are always blaming sky for stuff that happens outside their control, the individual broadcasters are responsible for their own channels, Sky run a small number of channels (the sky branded ones) the majority are just hosted on sky's TV Guide

In short - take it up with the channel owners. It's their responsibility, not Sky's.

You have to laugh a bit though that people continue to post as though it was Sky's fault even after its clearly spelt out.
